The Pubies have been repeating the Big Lie so much that they don’t think it’s a lie anymore. They actually believe it and no amount of evidence to the contrary is going to convince them. Trump’s spell over the party is as strong as ever. They’re so afraid of him and his base that they’ll eat shit and smile before they will go against him.

You may have a point. Even the dumbest voters eventually might see what is happening and realize that the voter suppression measures could hurt them too.

The myth that hard work pays off is just that. A Myth. Many of the hardest workers in the country are at the lowest level of income. and most of the highest earners barely work at all. I’m talking bout the ultra wealthy that live off off investment income. Some of them may have worked hard to build their empire but many of them inherited it.

You’re absolutely correct. I’ve resisted using self checkout as much as possible because I felt they were replacing cashiers. During the pandemic, there have been even fewer registers open and I’ve been forced into self checkout.

McDonalds is experimenting with automated burger fryers so they can replace that job too. Eventually the fast food business, which was once the biggest employer of young people who were getting their first job experience is going to be nearly totally automated with only one or two people on hand to supervise the machines.

Many of the jobs that were gained under Trump were second jobs or entry level jobs that people can’t live on. That’a one of the things that Biden is trying to change with his infrastructure plan. The question is will US workers want those higher paying jobs if it means they have to learn some new skills. Will they be willing to work hard again.

Much of the middle class in this country once had factory jobs that paid very high wages and had great benefits. Many of the jobs involved little more than pushing a button or pulling a handle all day. Repetitious but fairly easy. A lot of those jobs got replaced by total robotics and the ones that required a lot of manual labor got shipped overseas.

It looks like the number of people getting vaccinated is slowing down. It may be because most older people have the vaccine and it hasn’t been approves for use in teens and younger children yet. It may also be because of the large number of people that are refusing to get it. Many of the people in intensive care now are younger people. This myth that they won’t get seriously ill needs to stop.

Trump just helped it spread by continuing to call it a hoax in the beginning and allowing it to get out of hand. He kept saying it would disappear on it’s own. When he finally realized that he was wrong (he never admitted he was) the virus had spread all over the country.

I thought the Constitution forbid this. This country was founded on freedom of choice and separation of church and state. Sounds like the Pubies in Arkansas only believe in the Constitution when it comes to owning guns.

I see that they found the remains of 9 Neanderthals near Rome. All they had to do was come to the US and visit a Republican rally. They could have found live specimens.

They’re already working on new versions of the vaccine to address any variants. The way the Phizer and Moderna vaccines are made makes it easier to modify them to address variants. We have to get a flu shot every year and this may end up being similar. People that get the vaccine will continue to have some immunity even as it weakens so a booster each year is highly likely. It won’t be the same as it is now since we won’t be starting from ground zero.
