In the first edition, if you’d read just a bit further, you’d have come to the place where Mulligan “went over the parapet, laughing to himself.” (The French typesetters left out “to” after “over.”)
I read manga, and have seen some HP Lovecraft stories done in that format. I can see it now: a manga version of Ulysses, followed by a manga version of Finnegan’s Wake. That would be some poor devil’s life work.

Grace Slick actually recorded a song about this with JA, Rejoyce. She makes it a bit further. :-) But at least you have fun getting there.

I tried reading The Three Musketeers and made it about 20 pages in. Rather watch the movies.

My New Years resolution is to read Ulysses. So far, I’ve only reward two sentences. Just one more to go and I’ll have the book finished!

I made it farther than that. Of course, I was in jail for a month and it was the only book they let me have. Read it twice actually.

I finished it. I can’t say how much of it I followed and I retained only bits, but by God I made it through to the final page.
