Is Payne giving up on being a political cartoonist? I suppose he may as well, as bad as he is.

Imagine that, a Henry Payne cartoon about a car and only a car. I guess since there’s no stupid commentary, it’s an improvement. now if only he could do something about his artwork. I almost looks like the BMW he’s trying to draw. Have you thought about tracing, Henry?

How sad that this is probably one of Henry Payne’s best toons of the year.

He drew the BMW’s grill to look like buck teeth, so the little groundhog is in love with it?So is he saying German cars are ugly and only a groundhog could love it? Whatever, it is still stupid. Maybe Payne would like a good old orange Pontiac Judge.

I suppose there is a point to this. But like much of today’s modern art and some of Schoenberg’s music, I must confess I don’t get it.

It took me a bit but I figured it out! @Altar_Ego is right. its the grill work. The 2021 BMW4 has a significantly larger grill then the 2020 version. Giving the car a very buck tooth look. Causing the rodent to fall in love with the car.

Henry is vying today with Lester for the most obtuse cartoon title.

With Trump leaving and Republicans in disgrace, Payne has to find new benefactors…

It’s CODE! It’s an ORANGE groundhog, meant to reprsent “you know who”. He’s looking at a BMW, which indicates his intention to relocate to Germany.

If, in the next week, a Lester cartoon shows a couple retiring that is the reply to procede with plan “skedaddle”.

Perhaps it is as simple as a person showing off his/her new car.

I don’t get it.

Thanks to everyone who pointed out the buck-tooth grille. I never would have noticed that myself, but it’s perfectly aligned with cartoons Payne has done in the past about new models.

I, personally, find this cartoon refreshing. It’s funny, and it makes a statement about ugly grills. It’s a nice break from politics.
