I guess Al Goodwyn thinks it’s okay for Americans to attack American institutions. No need to invoke the 14th Amendment to throw people out of the government who take actions against the Constitution, right, AL!?
Or use it to keep him, or anyone that actively supported him, from ever becoming President again. Whatever accomplishes that, is OK by me. They can impeach him a hundred times and it still wouldn’t be enough for someone like Trump who’s so gloriously impeachable.
Seriously Mr. Goodwyn? Does your dictionary contain the words “incite” and “insurrection” or haven’t you yet made it all the way to the words that start with “in” because you’re still stuck on “ideology”?
If you won’t impeach and convict Trump for trying to overthrow the democratic process of counting the electoral college votes, then what do you think impeachment is for?
Disgustingly, his portrait will be on the presidential wall forever. Would that it had a plaque reading, “One term president. Impeached twice and forced to abdicate his golden throne, and determined to be a true enemy of the people. Other than that, a really fun guy”
Ah yes, a return to Al’s alternate reality. So I guess inciting Insurrection is OK in Al’ universe and shouldn’t be punished? (Don’t answer that, you’d find some way to either excuse it or try to deflect.)
Please explain, Al. If Trump’s inciting a still ongoing (according to the FBI) insurrection does not justify impeachment what does? No kidding. I would like too hear an explanation. Some cartoonists defend their cartoons occasionally.
It’s essential so the people of the country know that 247 members who swore to uphold the Constitution failed to do so. History will record this for all time. The people of the USA need to be constantly reminded of this fact, that not once, but twice, the GOP failed to convict a viper within their ranks.
Amendment 25 removes the cancer before it has a chance to use the nuke button.
Impeachment is like indictment. It does nothing but levy charges. It does not remove the cancer from office, nor does it prevent the cancer from running again. That is up to the Senate. The senate must convict (2/3 majority) to remove from office. In addition, the Senate must vote (simple majority) to disqualify the cancer from holding any federal office in the future. (Looks like it can still run for dogcatcher locally).
The cancer has been impeached already. It was ineffective since the GOP Senate killed it. The current Senate is still infected. It might be better to send it to the NEW Senate, where there are marginally more interested in upholding an impeachment and Mitch is NOT the Majority Leader.

All they did was beat a policeman with an American flag while they were hunting for Pence and Pelosi to kill them.

People who call for insurrection against the United States need to be held accountable. Period.

If a Democrat did what Trump did Goodwyn would be demanding his head… but since Trump is Republican no punishment is warranted…

There’s only one reason Goodwyn would belittle the people who are trying to save democracy and our country.
