Um, glad you acknowledge Biden won? But also wow, way to lie about the relief. GOP wants to cut relief and give what they do authorize to the corporations and billionaires — again. Mitch took HOW long to act on it at all?

It was Trump who insisted he be the only watchdog for the small business loans ordered in the first bill. There was no transparency. Mnuchin distributed loans to large companies and companies with ties to Trump and his cronies. Let’s put the responsibility on the Republicans, where it belongs.

I think this would make more sense if it was about Moscow Mitch, who is sitting on several hundred bills, let alone the viable relief bills that congress approved a long time ago. Before being held hostage to unreasonable demands from corporations, er Mitch M.

In that I’d like to thank Nancy Pelosi for her patriotism through the difficult Trump years.

‘This must be exposed’: Katie Porter ‘pulls back the curtain’ on Mitch McConnell’s stimulus sabotage

Porter continued, “Everyone at the negotiating table—including Senate Rs—has agreed to a compromise. Except one. Mitch McConnell is refusing to bring it to the floor unless it wipes away all COVID-related lawsuits filed that “allege injury or death” due to corporate negligence.”

“These lawsuits represent the worst of the worst examples of disregard for human life—cases filed on behalf of nursing home patients and grocery store workers who died because the company in charge of keeping them safe prioritized cutting costs over protecting them.”

She concluded, “The same McConnell who said that President Trump is “100% within his rights” to pursue baseless lawsuits alleging election fraud is now refusing to pass urgently-needed relief unless it strips those same rights from the most vulnerable among us. This must be exposed.”

Pelosi and the Dems did their part. Publicans seem to think that minimum wage earners are parasites and vermin, or, put more charitably, that people living at the edge of survival and working three jobs must have done something wrong, so it’s really their own fault.

Pelosi, Schumer blast $916B White House coronavirus relief proposalThe Trump-backed plan is said to include pared-down stimulus checks for Americans.

WASHINGTON — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer late Tuesday rejected a Trump-backed $916 billion coronavirus relief proposal that was offered by Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin.

The new Mnuchin plan landed on Capitol Hill late Tuesday and could boost prospects of an agreement, as it shows that the White House is willing to back a $900 billion plan. But it also complicated efforts given that much of the focus has been on a bipartisan group of lawmakers who have been working furiously to come to an agreement on their own $908 billion proposal

The Mnuchin plan has some distinct differences that have been immediately rejected by Democrats. Unlike the bipartisan proposal, it puts forth a $600 direct payment for individuals and $1,200 for couples, which is half the payment delivered by the March pandemic relief bill. And while the proposal would extend federal unemployment benefits, which are set to expire at the end of the month, for up to eight weeks, it would not provide an additional enhanced weekly federal benefit of $300 that Democrats are demanding and the bipartisan group has endorsed.

Katie Porter: Mitch McConnell is giving big corporations ‘a license to kill’ Americans

Speaking on MSNBC this Wednesday, Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) blamed Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for putting the “imaginary need” of big corporations ahead of relief for Americans as coronavirus lockdowns continues to ravage the economy and shut down businesses.

According to Porter, Democrats “continue to want to negotiate” a new coronavirus relief package, adding that many Republicans are also willing to compromise, but “this is about Senator McConnell holding out, kind of basically giving a license to kill to big corporations that engage in reckless behavior to endanger workers and employees and Americans.”

“Republicans and Democrats agree there’s a potential to continue those [coronavirus relief programs] if [McConnell] will drop this ridiculous, and I think, corrupt attempt to try to put these imaginary needs of corporations ahead of the needs of the American people.”

Where did this crazy meme get started? I’ve seen it in four different political cartoons today and it just isn’t true. McConnell has been using his power as majority leader to prevent voting on packages since April.
