I spent 48 years as a troubleshooter, enjoying the really tough ones I thought of as “slaying dragons.” It didn’t occur to me that chicks were not really interested in dragons’ heads on the wall. Ah, well – I was really doing it for me.

First day of deer season. We’ve been hunting the same land for over ten years, and the opening day used to sound like a war zone. The shots have dwindled over the last few years until this morning, when we saw nothing and heard nothing. Those #$@**&% coyotes can hunt all year long.

The buck doesn’t stop here.

Never underestimate the power of money. I am sure the king can get someone to bag him a prize deer.
