My take is the menus are flying, but Arlo’s summation still confuses me.

All I know is I read comics to escape the problems in the real world. I’m gonna take a pass on this comic for awhile I guess

No kids sit in the bar. (I’m assuming it’s kids in the ‘dining area’ making the planes)

Gathering places are still the high risk areas…like healthcare workers…

I’m amazed that the kids seated in my local restaurant’s tent have been remarkably well behaved.

I believe it’s simply that he doesn’t want an unexpected paper airplane from the bar interrupting their dinner in the dining room so he’d rather be eating in the “launching area”

The “kid theory” is the best one I’ve heard. Anyway, we always prefer sitting at the bar for dinner. The service is quicker and conversion with others is more likely. And, no kids.

More people get covid sitting in a bar than in a diner.

I would rather sit in the dinning area. People under the influence are more likely to ignore social distancing and wearing masks.

I prefer to drink in the tent I set up in the backyard. Easier to social distance.

Just be careful in the bar. Some under the influence do not care where they let it go…inside or out.

I hate to see them going to eat indoors. Always thought A&J were sensible people. So maybe tomorrow they will have second thoughts and we’ll see them sitting in a park eating take out.

“Pitching” is not the actual word (thus the airplane to allow adjustment for a “family” audience); when explaining an unsavory metaphorical bedmate, it is said “better to have them inside the tent [urinating] out than outside the tent [urinating] in”. Thus, better to be with the drunks, behind their missiles, than to be their target.

Husband would really eat in one of the places we used to eat – but knows it too big a risk for us. I have offered to take out from Wendys (we used to eat – the same – lunch there daily and dinner on Saturday night – we are on major budget) and we did so twice for lunch when eat in stopped, but the reason it was only twice is that it bothered him they did not have masks or gloves on, so he won’t. He thought about the Asian buffet we went to as it open again IF they were serving the food at the bars and one was not touching not the serving pieces – but they seem to have switched to Cajun, although their coupons still say Chinese buffet,and they don’t reply to emails or Facebook posts and one has to telephone at the limited times they are open and sit on hold without speaking to anyone so we cannot find out. I myself ALWAYS prefer to eat home and am having a great time with that part of the situation.
