I like the system where I am: Ballots mailed out well in advance, and ballots returned to ballot boxes which are easy to reach, even on foot, for almost everybody.
The stranglehold that our two [mutually-exclusive] opposing party system has on election system along with gerrymandering and winner-take-all prevent fair proportional representation. We need to pick the right millionaires to get the changes that are essential to nurturing a functional government that is not so strongly influence by partisanship and instead pays attention to the common needs of We The People. McConnell should be impeached, severely punished for his unconstitutional misdeeds, and the rules permanently changed to prevent dictatorship, dysfunction, and obstruction in both the House and Senate. We need to return to being a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Voting twice is an illusion, so is voter fraud. I’m a poll worker and the system simply doesn’t work that way. It is more likely for the votes to be reported correctly and then tampered with after being turned in, or for the voting machines to be rigged before they are installed. In the actual polling station, the only way to mess with the vote is to close the polling station and make people wait in lines at the one several miles away.
Calling out Trump and telling him it’s an illegal act is pointless. who’s going to stop him and the GOP governors? Barr? The Senate? We’ve been down that road already with the impeachment and we all know how that ended.
It should not be that hard to figure out.. just look around. Ignore State TV (aka Fox News) for a moment. Since trump… Americas standing in the world has gone down.. The trend trump inherited has been squandered, which pretty well follows trumps history of taking a profitable business and running it into the ground. Walls.. trumps signature move.. has now divided the country more than at anytime in it’s short history. Picking qualified men/women to key cabinet positions has been an abject failure. Because of incompetence in dealing with Covid-19 some portion of 200,000 Americans have needlessly died
So, more of the same?? Give your head a shake, anyone else would be better.
What is this thing called Representation by population?
“David Birdsell, dean of the school of public and international affairs at Baruch College, notes that by 2040, about 70% of Americans are expected to live in the 15 largest states,” Seib wrote. “They will have only 30 senators representing them, while the remaining 30% of Americans will have 70 senators representing them.
With minority rule comes autocracy… Good people of the USA, prepare yourselves… You also see one party has no integrity, ethics to them is only for other people, win, no matter the cost!
Is that supposed to refer to the death of the most honorable Ruth Bater Ginsburg? God rest her soul; SwampyDon and soulless Mitch certainly won’t as they ignore her dying wish!
The Roman Republic acted like an external empire till it became one internally. We are going that way. Reagan and his Republicans have hurried us down the road to the end of our Republic. You might not like what replaces it. Right now the top 1% owns 43% of the combined wealth and the next 4% owns 29% of the combined wealth, the next 15% own the wealth of 21% and the lower 80% owns the rest at 7%. You can’t have a free democratic-republic with that. You are living in a Plutocracy. And this counter revolution is not finished yet.
“We are free today substantially; but the day will come when our Republic will be an impossibility. It will be an impossibility because wealth will become concentrated in the hands of a few. A Republic cannot exist upon bayonets; and when that day comes, when the wealth of the nation is in the hands of a few, then we must rely upon the wisdom of the best elements of the country to readjust the laws of the nation to the changed conditions.”-James Madison, 4th President of the U.S.

If Trump gets to fill that ninth square with another right-wing justice, there will be no solution to the puzzle.
