Maybe someday we will say, “Remember Covid-19 in 2020.”

The fascist hawk wants to kill, lets invade Iran and Afghanistan even though all of the 9/11 participants came from Saudi Arabia.

Twenty years later we still memorialize those who died. Almost 200,000 of our citizens have died in about 6 mos and are forgotten except by their family and friends. Nicole Wallace tells her audience about at least one person – who needlessly died – at the end of each program. We should be hearing about those who have died every day. We should be grieving as a nation. We must “see” them as fellow citizens, human beings, loved and liked. Not just numbers.

“What Donald Trump literally said that day was: ‘40 Wall street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was actually before the World Trade Center the tallest, and and then when they built the World Trade Center it became known as the second-tallest, and now it’s the tallest’ "

It’s disturbing how the time following that tragedy seems weirdly like a simpler time now. I thought it would be the lowest point for decades to come. Lack of imagination on my part I guess. Regardless, to my friend’s brother who died in the in the south tower…everyone still misses you.

Tragic as 9/11 was.. losing 3000 odd lives and the destruction of some real estate.. It pales in the destruction and numbers killed since… in the name of revenge.

AND.. it became a turning point in America. Politicians saw the value in instilling fear. It.. created the opportunity for the likes of a trump some 2 decades later to become a president that can dismiss 200,000 Americans killed from a pandemic.. while stoking domestic fear.. that only “he” can end.

My memory of 9/11 was that we had another incompetent Republican president not doing his job. He ignored the PDB giving the details on how Osama bin Laden was planning an attack on us. His response to a bunch of Saudi criminals doing a horrible thing was to attack a country that had nothing to do with these Saudi criminals and make a big mess in the middle east, that we are still in! It took a Democratic president to take out the Saudi leader, bin Laden, of 9/11. Now we have another Republican president selling arms to the Saudis. This should be filed under WTF!

If Trump had been charge on 9/11, he would have told people in the towers to remain at their desks, so as no to panic them.

And Dubya’s administration ignored the reports from NSA field agents who were suspicious of foreign nationals who were studying piloting in schools in this Country. The reports started about six months before September 11, but were put aside and tables by their superiors.

Yeah, I do remember 9/11. And what allowed it to happen: extremely bad intelligence coordination. Oh, and airlines dragging their feet about armoring cockpit doors. Oh, and active support by our Saudi “allies”. Not to mention the Ps.O.S that did the actual deed. And I’m very much of the opinion that ‘Never Again’ is an appropriate response. But I’d bet any amount that Varvel and I disagree whole-heartedly on the appropriate technique for assuring that it never happens again.
