Trump is president of all of the country, including those cities. His poor leadership has contributed to what is happening in those cities. He has done nothing to solve the problem His only response has been to send in military instead of trying to figure out how to help and save our cities Of course, he refuses to take responsibility for anything.
Hey, Snr RamirezNotice that your cartoon depicts a national problem. And notice as well that a national problem is DJTs.So the incompetence which caused all this comes straight out of the GOP.
Amazing to me that Michael Ramirez, half Mexican, half Japanese, LOVES our racist president who would spit in Ramirez’s face if they ever met. Pathetic.
Violence and increased Covid cases are normal scenarios for places where large congestions of populations exist, such as these cities. And, actually, their crime rates, even with Dem control, is better than other cities with Repub led control.
Talk about not taking responsibility! Every one of the cities that have had rioting and looting is led by libs! When they can’t or won’t take control they blame the President! I can’t wait for the bleating of the socialist sheep under Soros when our country is placed under Conservative control in Nov. And I mean all three branches. Pack your bags and head for Venezuela, you’ll love it there!
This is a perfect example of the divisiveness sown by the right. The cartoon. The comments. Last I checked cities are not islands and are impacted by policies of the states’ and federal governments, which are often Republican. “Blue states” give more in taxes than they receive in return. “Red states” pay less, receive more. Maybe you feel validated temporarily after the snark?
I hope Ramirez does the toon next week where we see all of the Republican governors of states that have botched the Covid response saying they “want to do to the US what they’ve done to their states”.
What’s missing here is critical thinking. What have “we” done to the various cities? compared to what? Here we have posts arguing that Drumpf is not responsible for federalism. Okay, then what are “we” again? Democrats have the House, so are “we” the Senate and the Presidency? If so, then already the argument that federalism demands another kind of governing, so how can “we” do the same thing that “we” have done in the cities. The argument is just too simple for a complex problem.
Ramirez and MAGA continue to show their ignorance. Meanwhile, the RNC invited the Stanford rapist, the ST Louis couple that wielding guns at unarmed protesters, a kid who thought it be cool to do a face off with a Native American while his buddies cheered it on, father of a Sandy Hook victim whom we can presume he is going to support unlimited gun rights, and a former Planned Parenthood employee to speak at their convention. The Culture War fear mongering is strong in the GOP.
Will Ramirez do one next week for the RNC showing a combination of Trump’s Congressional apologists/supporters and the richest 1% in the country saying: WE THINK NO ONE CAN RUN AN OLIGARCHY BETTER THAN THE TRUMP / PUTIN TICKET. And the last square will be a guy in a MAGA hat saying: YEAH! What’s an oligarchy?
I live in Portland area now. In the past, I have lived in Jackson, Ms., Memphis, New Orleans and Atlanta. They would have to make them more like peaceful, prosperous Portland before I would move back to any of those wretched hives of poverty and violence in those conservative dominated states.
Ramirez is forgetting about Tulsa, Oklahoma. That city’s murder rate is 14.9 murders per 100000 citizens. It’s in Republican territory though, so it doesn’t count.
Blaming Trump for the failed leadership in those cities is pure deflection. The incompetency of the city officials falls on them, not the federal government.
I can’t wait until Monday’s cartoon with all the Trump people in prison being able to praise what he’s done for America. Think Mike missed the Republicans (or former ones, farmers, etc.) that appeared on the Democratic Convention. Missing like Moscow Mitch might be on Monday and possibly a few others up for re-election. They’ll be practicing social distancing miles away and not even on T.V. but wearing a mask to hide their faces.

The President is trump.
The problems are owned by trump.
The 172,000+ deaths are on trump.
The economy in shambles and unemployment in double digits are on trump.
The Russian meddling in our election is because of trump.
Shall I go on?
