Nothing ever gets weird in Wiley’s strips. He offers a clear view into a reality we don’t understand because of his characters’ Boston accents.

If she only has a bathday once a year, I think the safe side would be about a hundred yards upwind.

Dow East is often copied by New Englanders and even LL Bean but the true accent is indeed the one of the upper NE Maine area . Nicest folks too.

The Cap’n Eddie arcs have never failed the fun weirdness test. I look forward to them.

Been reading Wiley for years, just noticed the name on the boat. Has it always been called ‘Anoesis’? Word doesn’t even recognize it as a word.

Another poor woman with isolation hair. I swear, a while longer and my girl friend could probably climb my beard. I mean even if I get a hair cut, they won’t let me take off my mask to trim my beard.

If it’s the new “nahmal” then why is the waitress still not wearing a mask?

Oh, is that what the accents are – Boston? It takes me a little longer to read this particular kind of Wiley’s comics. Actually, longer today to figure out what “nahmal” was, LOL!! That’s okay, Wiley, I usually get them all. Stiff upper lip ‘n’ all……………

Boston??? More like Wiley got a hold of some old “Bert and I” tapes. Maybe “How to Talk Yankee”, A Downeast Foreign Language Record.
