I hear this alot from whites in deep red Trumpanistan. That and how having the military control brown people is a great idea. One of the many reasons I intend to vote and then smuggle myself out of this madhouse of a nation to a country that at least tries to be civilized.

It’’s also worth noting how Bonespurs is continuing the screwing over of indigenous peoples in the US.

Some things shouldn’t take a hundred or more years with empty promises! No, we’re not talking your stimulus check. WE’RE TALKING JUSTICE FOR ALL. That’s a past due debt that’s still gone ignored. ENOUGH.

Just for starters, police immunity has to go. They should not be above the law.

99.9% of the population is angry about the death of Mr. Floyd. I think most people understand peaceful protests, or at least don’t have a problem with that. But the rioting and looting is just making matter worse. It muddies the issue and distracts from the real problem and diminishes the message of the peaceful ones.

Excellent. Let’s not forget several hundred years of being deprived basic human rights necessitating amendments to the U.S. constitution so they “qualify” as people. How about being scr*wed/blued/tatooted in every way economically, often with the concurrence of the federal government so that they can’t participate in the American dream.

Indeed.. One would think that after several hundred years “they” would be used to it. We know evolution is slow.. but this is ridiculous. /s

Mr. Trump says his administration has done more for black citizens than any other since Abraham Lincoln. The last three panels are examples of this sterling claim.

It would be impossible to eradicate racism from all the people of any country, but it certainly would be admirable if it was banished from the leadership and from law enforcement.

    Today is June 4.

243 years and 11 months ago, democracy was kindled in the United States.

31 years ago it was killed in Tiananmen Square, when the “People’s Army” dominated the people.

Here is some for the Middle-class white folk like me.

Francis Scott Key is was a racist, church-stater (probably a tory) and against the revolutionary war. later pens what was to be our National Anthem

    Read the fifth and six-line.

And where is that band who so vauntingly sworeThat the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,A home and a country should leave us no more!Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slaveFrom the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth waveO’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Those words are a warning for those employed and slaves. He felt freedom was for the rich only , and they the right to end an employee’s life if so be.My ancestor came over as an indentured service for a seven-year contract. My family protested vandalized (Boston tea party) and fought against the Britsh during the American Revolution. As a Patriot and veteran, I will gladly take Knee over those two lines. I can’t know your pain and anger. I understand a bit. But I know we can’t treat fellow human beings this way. This for you, the Fascist, Christian nationalist. Nazi and/or Maga. Your anger is in the wrong direction; your leaders are your oppressors. They call themselves Patriots, but they are not. They are traitors and are trying to destroy this country. They want democracy to fail. They are the ones who fail. Do you want to be like the German in 1947 realized they were fools?

The way to solve the looting, rioting problem is to figure out that the rioting is NOT the problem, it is the reaction to the problem.

Weeding the bullies out of the police department and putting in a psychological test for their replacements would be the first step in solving the rioting problem. My brother in law was a cop in a small Texas town. He was a bully in high school to the point of exhibiting psychological issues in the stuff that he did, and he was able to turn that hobby into a profession by joining the local police department

Our police should be carefully chosen, required to wear cameras, and any complaints should be reviewed by a citizen’s committee, elected by the citizens of the community. The police have a “thin blue line” alliance that means that cops take care of each other. It should be modified to mean that no one covers for a cop who has done something wrong. I understand that the police are not dealing with the cream of society on a day to day basis, and actual respect for the average arrestee can be a hard thing to muster. But, they need to understand that covering for a cop who is not treating the citizens they arrest with respect even when they least deserve it is actually putting every one of them at more risk. Any time a neighbor is treated badly by the cops, even if I agree that he is a piece of scum, it makes me distrust that I will be treated fairly by the police. Until the people of a community trust that they will be treated fairly, there will be riots, and too many police have historically not acted in a way which created that trust.

No, when we say “Why can’t you protest peacefully” we really do mean it. Assemble and speak. Scream if you wish.

When you attack people and vandalize and burn cars and buildings and loot and kill people, we begin to doubt your motives.

The question isn’t why there is anger. The REAL question is “How in the heck have we avoided burning it all down already?”

I’m shocked. They protested already in 2020, just after Floyd’s murder, but earlier, no one could think of protesting after other Black People murders.
