And guess who really ended up getting all of the money from the verdict? Sure wasn’t the thousands of victims as I recall back then. Seems like it was the lawyers & government?

Definitely appeal. Michael Flynn twice pleaded guilty to lying to the F.B.I. Michael Flynn appealed his conviction and Trump’s appointee judge let Flynn walk.

Don’t defense attorneys automatically appeal? It’s been a long time since I saw LA Law.

The money was supposed to go to funding health care for the former smokers, all kinds of smoking cessation programs, all kinds of other stuff to help people with their addictions. Instead, as predicted, it was used for construction projects, pork barrel purposes, budget balances, in other words, anything but it’s intended uses.

“defendants and their families openly weeping”

    (world’s smallest violin)

Aren’t the defendants the heartless billionaire tobacco executives? The super-rich people who could have just cut a deal and paid what would to them amount to pocket change, thus avoiding a trial entirely? Have I completely misunderstood the premise? :-|
