Ah yes, let businesses go in the middle of a health emergency, while not helping the average citizen. Makes oh so much sense. Please go back to the conspiracy theories at least those are amusing and not just mean.
Ms Benson, please take selfies (with date and location the of newspaper displayed) at various businesses such as a salon/barbershop, a tattoo parlor, a neighborhood bar, a full-service restaurant – either outside or in, a retail super store, a local small business store, a beach – if possible, a park. Wearing a mask if others are doing so; not wearing a mask if the majority is not. Then post on the Internet, letting your “followers” view the photos. Thank you.
Actually, Lisa’s tangle of lights and flags is exactly what Trump put in place by declining to take on the responsibility of the POTUS to provide centralized guidance. Seems like she doesn’t like the inevitable result of her favorite clownish conman’s inaction.
When republikkklan politicians and reich-wing talking heads and idiot cartoonists say “Americans need to get back to work,” what they really mean is “Rich people’s money is more important than your lives.”
Thanks to the diligence and testing, South Korea decided to start relaxing their strict social distancing rules and allow people to start resuming normal life. They still needed to wear masks and take precautions.
On May 2nd, a 29 year-old South Korean male went out to party at at least five nightclubs in Seoul. He wore no protection and was CV=19 positive. The result? He exposed over 5500 people to the Covid19 virus, which the government has been trying to track down and trace so they can test. As of the 15th of May, over 150 people have tested positive for CV-19 and secondary infections have spread across the Peninsula to cities like Incheon and Busan (the opposite end of the country). Testing has expanded to over 20,000.
Korea will get these locked down in time, but it’s really a setback that will take time, all because of ONE person who didn’t think they needed to worry about protecting others and just wanted to have a night out on the town.

“SEOUL, May 13 (Yonhap) — Cases linked to nightspots in the Seoul neighborhood of Itaewon hit 120 on Wednesday as secondary infections surfaced across the country, stoking concerns over the possibility of a bigger outbreak.
Infections in Seoul accounted for more than half of the cases at 70, with the number feared to rise after more visitors to the affected area are tested for the coronavirus. Some 20,000 have so far been tested, according to the health minister.
Authorities have been on the alert after a 29-year-old tested positive following visits to five clubs and bars — King Club, Trunk, Queen, Soho and H.I.M — in Itaewon, a popular nightlife district also known for its international community, in early May.
In less than a week, the case quickly swelled to a cluster infection, affecting not only those who had been to Itaewon but 43 who were infected through secondary transmission."
Lisa, YOUR leader Trump said that he doesn’t take responsibility, then tried to take credit for the positive results from the states where governors issued stay-at-home directives, then said the armed militias in Michigan are “good people” that governor Whitmer should reason with (after Trump called her names several times), and at this point I’ve lost track of the lies and flip-flopping. Trump has been trying to blame President Obama for “empty cupboards” and when asked why Trump didn’t take action sooner to fill them, Trump and his press sec. liar came up with a wide selection of lies, including the impeachment which didn’t start until 2019.
As strange as it may be, I actually agree with Lisa on this one. With the way the Orange Idiot has reacted to the pandemic, and all the confusing and contradictory statements and instructions everybody has put out about it, it’s no wonder U.S. Businesses are confused and just spinning their wheels.
In December 2014, then-President Barack Obama warned the United States: “There may and likely will come a time in which we have both an airborne disease that is deadly,” Obama said. “And in order for us to deal with that effectively, we have to put in place an infrastructure—not just here at home, but globally—that allows us to see it quickly, isolate it quickly, respond to it quickly, so that if and when a new strain of flu like the Spanish flu crops up five years from now or a decade from now, we’ve made the investment and we’re further along to be able to catch it.” In March 2009, H1N1, was identified in Mexico before spreading quickly across the rest of the world. . The Obama administration acted early and decisively to prevent the swine flu pandemic from devastating the U.S. instructing every federal agency to play a role in preparing the U.S. for a pandemic. H1N1 was first detected in the U.S. on April 15, 2009 and within a week, the CDC had already begun working to develop a vaccine and activated its Emergency Operations Center to respond. By April 28, 2009, the Food and Drug Administration approved a new CDC test to detect H1N1 infections. Obama’s response to the 2014 Ebola outbreak was similarly marked by action. . The U.S. sent thousands of health officials to Africa, where the virus was spreading, to help with response efforts and limit the virus’ spread. The Obama administration helped create 15 treatment centers in the region, provided PPE and medical relief supplies to the countries, and conducted aggressive contact tracing to identify how the virus was spreading to limit its spread beyond Western Africa. There were an estimated 12,469 deaths from H1N1 in the United States. Only one person in the United States died from Ebola after traveling from West Africa to Dallas, Texas.
To help the incoming administration be better prepared to fight future pandemics, officials under President Obama took what they learned from these battles and prepared a 69-page playbook. written by Obama’s National Security Council, which detailed strategies for when and how to obtain personal protective equipment, and included recommendations on how the government should move quickly to detect and contain potential outbreaks, secure additional funding, and possibly even invoke the Defense Production Act to compel private companies to produce needed medical supplies..Outgoing Obama administration officials also prepared a “tabletop exercise” just days before Trump’s inauguration, in which they briefed Trump’s top aides on the potential dangers of a pandemic—such as the one now devastating the United States. As Politico reported in March, the Trump team was told it could face specific challenges, such as shortages of ventilators, antiviral drugs, and other medical essentials. Obama administration officials emphasized that having a coordinated, unified national response was “paramount.” But the Trump administration ignored the playbook Instead, spending weeks downplaying the virus, which they knew about in late December, spouting rampant misinformation and contradicting his own medical and scientific advisors. Even as he began to acknowledge the reality of the pandemic, Trump refused to take responsibility for the shortages of ventilators, PPE, and other medical supplies, stating “no one could have seen this coming.”Instead, as the Associated Press reported, the Trump administration wasted nearly two months that could have been used to bolster the federal stockpile of critically needed supplies and equipment. Federal agencies waited until mid-March to begin placing bulk orders of N95 respirator masks, mechanical ventilators, and other equipment needed by front-line health care workers. By then, it was too late.
