It looks like Mike and Joe have forgotten their continuity — the paper, when it first appeared was “The Midnite Mirror”. Now, it’s Midnight? Check for yourselves:
*1-THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING. We’ve just gotten word from the SixAm Tower that our wheels are crooked. No worries though. I’ll be parachuting to safety any second now…
2-SENIOR SLICK: Ai yi yi. Do you think we need a pilot? FORTUNE SEEKER: Nah. Spirit Airlines fly pretty well on the Wing and a Prayer approach.
3-FORTUNE: That said, you might want to put your Dolce and Gabanna shades somewhere safe in the event of a rough landing. SENIOR SLICK: No problem. Like me, they like eet rrrrufffff! FORTUNE: Ooooh baby, roll those R’s for me!
I see another “Son of Brow”/ " Little Doc"/ “Ghost Pepper”/ “Mrs. Flattop” / “Shaky II”/ Haf and Haf/ Vortex “Ice cream Vendor”/ “Honeymoon and Crystal kidnapper”,etc. story line…
“Shaky II” also wanted to “introduce” himself to Dick Tracy…
It seems that “revenge” against Tracy & Company is becoming a major plot line…
Maybe a recap of Chester Gould’s " Breathless Mahoney" story line is in order since B.O. is concerned about his part in it…
Notice that the city is never named. At most, it’s called “Dick Tracy’s city.”
DC (Detective Comics) used city names that were rather generic. Superboy lived in a small farm town called “Smallville.” Superman lives in a metropolis that is apparently New York City, but is called “Metropolis.” Batman lives in something like New York City that isn’t Metropolis, so it’s given another nickname for New York, “Gotham City.” Green Lantern lived on a coastal city which was called “Coast City.” The Flash lives in a city in the nation’s midsection called “Central City.”

Are we sure the girl is (really) Fortuna? Maybe is Heartless Mahoney, after many years.

Nice slight of hand by Fortuna to switch shades so quickly.
I mean, that has to be it, right?
It couldn’t be a mistake, could it?
NAH, NEVER!

Does she want to meet the real Dick Tracy, or Morgan who is playing him?

I don’t think Tracy is a huge fan of movie “stars.” And I suspect that Fortuna has ulterior motives….
