We went shopping yesterday, and I have to admit that this image depicts pretty close to what I was feeling. Though it is also true that the rate of known infection in our area means that probably the number of infection sources I was close to was near zero.

Yeah. I’m peeved that we still  don’t have reasonable access to testing.

We can not test to see if anyone has had COVID-19. We have to act as if we have it and nobody else has it. We have to assume that everyone else has it, and we have not. So we all both have COVID-19 and don’t have it. It’s Schrodinger’s virus.

In one sense, this cartoon may be realistic. The Icelandic study showed that half of those testing positive for the virus had no symptoms, so they — and everyone else — thought that they did not have the virus.

So they could be contributing to an exponentially increasing crowd of asymptomatic carriers walking around in public, while those with symptoms stay home.

Tom Inglesby, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, said the U.S. would “be in a much better position” if the Trump administration had acted more quickly, in an interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace,

TRUMP: “Just watched Mike Wallace wannabe, Chris Wallace, on @FoxNews. I am now convinced that he is even worse than Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of Meet the Press(please!), or the people over at Deface the Nation. What the hell is happening to @FoxNews. It’s a whole new ballgame over there!”

    — Donald Trump April 12, 2020

FOX: “Enough with the 3rd grade name-calling. Chris is doing his job. The news should not be any president’s friend, ally, or buddy. If it bothered you when Obama complained about Fox News, but you’re silent on this complete nonsense, then just stop. Seriously. Enough. “

    —Fox & Friends co-host Jedediah Bila April 12, 2020

TAPPER: The New York Times reported yesterday that you and other top officials wanted to recommend social and physical distancing guidelines to President Trump as far back as the third week of February, but the administration didn’t announce such guidelines to the American public until March 16, almost a month later. Why?

FAUCI: You know, Jake, as I have said many times, we look at it from a pure health standpoint. We make a recommendation. Often, the recommendation is taken. Sometimes, it’s not. But we — it is what it is. We are where we are right now. Obviously, it would have been nice if we had a better head start, but I don’t think you could say that we are where we are right now because of one factor, it’s very complicated.”

“ You know, Jake, again, it’s the what would have, what could have. It’s — it’s very difficult to go back and say that. I mean, obviously, you could logically say, that if you had a process that was ongoing, and you started mitigation earlier, you could have saved lives. Obviously, no one is going to deny that. — Dr. Anthony S. Fauci

If these things are a scam, then it’s the great granddaddy of them all. Faked dead bodies. Faked ice-caps melting. I’m sure there must be a crime involved. Maybe President Trump could have these scammers arrested?

But that would be a police state move, wouldn’t it? People should be free to hoax, infect and perhaps kill anyone they please at any time — same with the environment — otherwise we are living in a police state?

Honestly, if I get it then I get it. Dear Lord, the people walking around with gloves on is about the dumbest thing I’ve seen. It does NOTHING to prevent the spread of the disease because people cross contaminate almost as soon as they’re on.

People are overly ignorant about this stuff. Otherwise those of us that work in medicine would walk around with gloves on all day long when we work our shifts.

This video from an experienced nurse just shows what we already know.

Trump White House blew off early COVID-19 warnings due to ‘ignorance, arrogance and incompetence’

Using what have come to be known as the “Red Dawn” emails (reported by the New York Times) circulated amongst health care officials in the administration that contained early warnings that as many as 1.7 million Americans could die from the virus when it made its way to America, the report details what one official described as an disgrace in the Trump White House.

Anybody, if you want a test you can get a test. (Trump, March 6th). As of today less than 2% of the country has been tested.

Trump’s priority today was to refute a NY Times article and to continue his lying and name-calling. For example, Joe Biden DID say Trump is a racist and xenophobe, but it was not related to the ban of travel from China. Trump keeps trying to take credit for actions from the CDC even though he continued to contradict them for months.

Trump has threatened to revoke the licenses of networks that show a commercial that have quotations from Trump while the count of Covid-19 cases rise.
