I’ve learned not to hate Trump. He’s sort of like Gollum from the Lord of the Rings; a despicable character with few, if any, redeeming qualities. I pity him instead of hating him. His whole life is focused and consumed by a single object. In Gollum’s case, it was the Ring. In Trump’s case it’s himself. Trump’s entire universe extends no further than his own skin. There is no love in there, even for himself.
Like an addict, no matter how much of his “love fix” he gets, it is never enough. He is truly a miserable person to be with and to be. He has the personality of a black hole; it sucks the life out of anything that gets near it.
Also, I’ve learned to accept his constant lying. He’s not lying to me. He is lying to himself and his “base.” Politically, it is not a bad move. He is constantly motivating his worshipers so they will come and adore him. This also means that they are likely to come out and vote for him.
If 100% of the 40% come out and vote for Trump and only half of the rest of us come out to vote, it’s four more years.
The only reason to watch is to watch him turn into a pretzel as he changes course.. chases a new shinny object and throws the latest “mean” Democrat under the bus.
Many people watching those briefings play a drinking game. When Trump or someone else on the panel praise him, viewers take a shot. That must be why the ratings are so high.
At least get that guy an “Increase Your Vocabulary” book. The adjectives “fantastic, tremendous, wonderful, and beautiful” as used by him are not only wearing thin but also sadly inappropriate.
Although I’m pretty sure Mr. Trump has never read much of Mark Twain, a few things Mr. Twain observed seem to be more than apt regarding Mr. Trump’s nightly pep rallies:
“If you can’t get a compliment any other way, pay yourself one.”
or,
“There is nothing you can say in answer to a compliment. I have been complimented myself a great many times, and they always embarrass me—I always feel that they have not said enough.”
so that can possible be considered scatter shot murder, and similarly scatter shot murder is happening in Wisconsin where Trump political and court cronies are forcing poll workers and voters to face risks instead of simply delaying the election day.
My hope for both is that as many people around the world as possible learn of these things, and my hope for the second is that enough Wisconsin Republicans write-in vote for someone OTHER than Trump for the Republican candidate to signal to the nation that not everyone is willing to completely surrender their morals to go along with these attacks on American citizens.
“No one in this world, so far as I know — and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me — has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.” H.L. Mencken.
I can’t take 30sec. of Trump, His style of speech makes my skin crawl. Please DNC find someone..anyone that can lead America by bringing Us together not tearing Us apart. Joe Biden is not going to be able to unifie America much less win the general election. IMO
he seems to be totally fixated on this “snake oil” drug that will end all this. hmmm- wonder who owns the drug company and—-could he and/or his family possibly-just possibly- be involved in any way there??hooray for Fauchi-keep fighting for truth, justice and the american way- till he fires you
The most common thing local fans of Buttercup point out is that he as done great things for American business. Guess I missed that. Was that when he started cutting regs and restrictions on overuse and gas mileage?
I would like to see a scene from “A Few Good Men” and have Jack Nicholson walk up and bitch slap the Dumpster and tell him " You can’t tell the truth"………
