Trump 2014: Obama should resign after eleven people in the United States got infected with Ebola and two died. (Obama quickly isolated and contained the infection, established the Pandemic Response Unit that Trump would later dismantle, and invested heavily in helping West African nations contain the disease and limit its spread.)

Trump 2020: 100,000 to 240,000 deaths would mean “a very good job.”

Harry S Truman 1945: “Everyone else is passing the buck; the buck stops here.” (He even had a wooden plaque on his desk with the quote.”

“An Aggrieved Spirit Speaks”

Though now a sworn Citizen of Eternity,

I speak with those once called Americans.

No urge to lie now, as Spirits we speak but truth,

For lies are a basic reflex of those in flesh.

I was one of many dead in the Pandemic,

When the virus was a silent rushing flame;

The fever fierce burned me breathless.

On my last remembered bleary day

I watched That Man strut upon the stage,

Vain, smirking, cunning, plump with life,

Taking responsibility none at all

For delays and deaths, just crass excuses.

Relieved of life at last, that image of him

Remained as off I flew to Judgment.

Some here since say, at his own life’s end,

Praised and mourned as he lay In State,

His passing was honored with great display.

I and others are aggrieved spirits.

Not among those assigned first to Paradise,

We suffer a while on the Mount of Purging.

But worthwhile is the painful wait

To see him thrown among us at last,

Naked, bewildered at this final falling,

Without boasted wealth or power or ploys.

For then we shout, “No, not even here for you!”

As one we’ll throw him further down, down

To the Pit realm that Dante roamed,

As God wills True Justice served at last.

Words mean nothing….it’s actions that count…everything that comes out of his pie hole is campaign driven…

Two months before the novel coronavirus is thought to have begun its deadly advance in Wuhan, China, the Trump administration ended a $200-million pandemic early-warning program aimed at training scientists in China and other countries to detect and respond to such a threat.

The project, launched by the U.S. Agency for International Development in 2009, identified 1,200 different viruses that had the potential to erupt into pandemics, including more than 160 novel coronaviruses. The initiative, called PREDICT, also trained and supported staff in 60 foreign laboratories — including the Wuhan lab that identified SARS-CoV-2, the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

Field work ceased when the funding ran out in September, and organizations that worked on the PREDICT program laid off dozens of scientists and analysts, said Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, a key player in the program.

I am so (bloody) outraged and upset that I can’t even finish reading these cartoons. What has happened to “humanity”?

“‘We’ have lost many loved ones.” First off, you don’t have “many” loved ones, only the one: yourself. And, unfortunately, that’s the one we most need to lose, but we haven’t.

Tiny has not said one kind or empathetic word to the sick or families of the dead. Not. One. Word.

I’m reading all of the comics and all of the responses. After three weeks at home, my house is spotless, I’ve binge watched stuff that bored me the first time I watched it, and it’s too early to garden. Gocomics is the high point of my day, and yes, I realize how pathetic that is, but I can top it. I try to have actual conversations with telemarketers.

Donnie the Dotard, child we scorn

Grows fat as season turns to season
