Don’t worry John the pizza delivery guy knows what he’s doing

It’s freezing raining and John is sweating. Oh boy, he is so anxious. And here’s why the Pizza Guy got to stay on – for his car sign punchline.

John’s shocked look tells us that Michael failed to tell him who was actually there. If I were John and it was my baby being born, I think I might have asked who the “competent hands” were instead of trusting the medical opinion of my 14-year-old son. When he got that call, John was staying at the home of Dr. Ted McCaulay who is an actual medical doctor and more qualified than nurse Carol or radiology tech Connie or even dentist John Patterson. I suspect Ted would have come along if John had asked. In the last panel John is probably thinking, “I am an idiot to trust my son’s opinion. I should have brought Ted.”

No worries folks. This is a rerun, & we know how it eventually turns out, & what her name will be.

Lynn’s Comments:

The arrival of the pizza guy did two things: it gave credence to the gravity of the weather conditions and it allowed me to enjoy the sign on his car.

This whole story arc just reminded me of a friend who lived in Toronto, got laid off from her job there a little over a year ago, and on a whim bought a “fixer upper” house in Halifax. Major money pit problems with the house aside, I asked her, “Have you ever been there in the middle of winter?” “No”, she said. Suffice to say that she found out ahead of the rest of us about what it’s like to have to stay inside for weeks at a time. I love Ontario with a passion. But here is one more great reason to be in Southern California all winter.

I must say, this pay off was very well done, in my humble opinion.

The last panel was worth reading the whole story.

Pizza guy is experienced in deliveries.

I would imagine that the pizza guy will expect a large tip for this.

When my 2nd child was born, 4hrs start to finish, as they were cleaning him up and my wife was resting, the OB Nurse told my wife "You should have a dozen kids, you have ’Breeder’s Hips’. My wife tried to get up and get at her, saying “Breeders Hips?! I’ll kill her!” The doctor sent the nurse to fetch something from the far end of the hospital.

This cartoon strip, call it “We Deliver,” was worth the whole arc. One of the funniest!

OMG ….. the look of horror on John’s face in the fourth panel at seeing the “We Deliver” sign on the pizza guy’s car is absolutely PRICELESS! :-D

Now that’s funny!!!

Nice to see that Lynn has synced the strip with the calendar. You know what tomorrow is.

No worries, though, right? i mean John’s a dentist, and dentists have med school training…
