I used to throw catnip parties on my patio for the neighborhood cats. As many as seven cats would show up, including my own female. Some ate it, some snorted it, some rolled around in it and there was one who would just stay on the sidelines and criticize the others for using it.

None of my three cats is affected by catnip. I’ve heard turmeric root can have a similar effect on cats. I’ll have to try it.
