As far as I can tell, there have been no surprises, and no Senator actually paying attention. More than prying one eye open every few minutes to see if the speaker has changed.
The republicans refuse to allow any new evidence or witnesses, so the House managers have to repeat themselves and try to convey the importance of that has already been said to people who refuse to listen.
Sad/annoying/frustrating to see the great experiment in the government (of the people, by the people and for the people) reduced to two mutually exclusive political parties using Congress as a battleground to disable/derail each other and putting their party’s ideology above the Constitution and people of the US.
Unfortunately, our founding fathers worked from the perception that those representing the people would be responsible adults – there was no way for them to guard against such a wholesale march to stupidity, as such an occurrence was beyond their ability to comprehend.
What about all the feigned “shock” from Collins, Murkowski and other Repubs? Collins passed a note to Justice Roberts because she was “stunned” that Nadler would say that Repub Senators are cvbering up for Trump. Schiff quoted from a CBS report that Trump said Repubs heads would be “on a pike” and Collins and others are ready to faint. For crying out loud, have they ever listened to Trump?

The defense will be shorter because there is no defense for the Rump’s behavior.
