Up until the last panel, I thought Holly’s temper tantrum was her way of acknowledging she knew Val would never let her go with the group she planed to go with and stay out as late as the concert would keep them.
When I was 14, my brother 12 and my sister 10, our parents bought us tickets to our first rock concert, The Turtles and The Spencer Davis Group. It was an absolute blast!
My mom taught us kids that if we presented her with all the pertinent information (what we wanted to do, where we were going, when we would leave and return, who we were going with, who was taking us and how much money was needed) at the start, we had a MUCH better chance of getting an OK.

One of the biggest problems in sales is that people fail to listen.

Holly could have a career as a contortionist, since she seems to be constantly sticking her foot in her mouth and sticking her head up her a$$..

Teenagers as well as the rest of us need a good metaphorical smack across the head, sometimes.

What Mom is asking is perfectly acceptable. It’s called being a good parent.

Holly was prepared for a no, so the anger of disappointment, wait for it.

Considering a church prayer meeting was raided during the last week concerts probably aren’t allowed either.
