It’s so much easier to do nothing. Most of the people doing it won’t be around to pay the price for long. Their children? well, they’re on their own and the main culprits hope that the money they amass will be enough to buy their kids a bit longer survival than all those others. Pro-Tip You can’t eat paper, metal, or shiny rocks and all the riches will be measured in what you can drink, eat, and breathe.

Last decade before cliff? You really think (hope!) so? Folks, at this point we’re floating on air with the ground below fast approaching. It really doesn’t hurt yet, except in Australia (especially if you’re a koala), and sometimes in California, and… Well, it ain’t gonna be pretty.

    Happy New Year!

The problem is that if we hit this new decade running as hard as we can, we are still going to suffer human displacement from fires and rising seas, diseases from inadequate provision for refugees, political upheaval based on all that and still must do what needs to be done to shorten/lessen the time of trouble. And that’s assuming the ocean currents don’t stagnate, the methane globules don’t rise and nobody goes nuclear.

I wish us all the best of luck, because sure as shootin’ the folks we have chosen to be our “planners” haven’t been doing their job with even minimum competence.

    WHO will Steer? – {3 beats in each line}

The danger we’ve created is near.

Away from its course we must veer.

    But money’s politicians won’t steer

    to a greener atmosphere

in which our world need not sear. -

    - So WHO will bring a solution

    to Nature’s destitution

    by dint of greed’s pollution?

    Solace – {1.20 limericks}

    Where find solace, – relief

    from climate changing’s grief?

For me, it’s the Christian motif

    that all is well

    tho’ things go to hell.

    Grant me, Lord, more belief.

Politicians can’t see past their nose! All they see is how much they can rake in for themselves….the reason they were elected, to work and serve constituents is out the window….mean while Planet Earth is burning, flooding, storming, and no one in DC seems to cares!

The following is an imitation of the Introduction to “Goops and How to Be Them: A Manual of Manners for Polite Infants,” by Galett Burgess (First Edition, 1900)

“Gops and How to Be Them: For Political Infants”

    Let me introduce a group

    Stuck in an unending loop:

Past ain’t past, it’s ever present,

    Future notions they would prevent.

    .

Their time-bound minds stay on track

As Moebius strips go there and back,

    Back to there, never elsewhere.

The World shouts “Bye!” but do they care?

    .

It is strange and most perverse,

They drive all places in reverse.

But point this out — just you try —

And for your pains, get spat in eye.

    .

We’ll call them “Gops,” and it’s instructive

    To note how badly self-destructive

    Are their obtuse science notions,

How badly skewed their law promotions.

    .

    Criticize their driving creed,

Backward off a cliff they’ll speed,

    Out of pride be obstinate

    Just to satisfy their snit.

    .

So learn if able from this book

How Gops conduct their world outlook.

Then steer your life a different way —

A route alternate to what they’d lay.

Remember all those old men carrying signs saying “The world will end tomorrow”.. We now have the environmentalists version. Didn’t happen then and it wont happen now either.

The world’s not going to end, at least not for Americans, Europeans, Australians and Japanese. Do you see the pattern? The countries with the resources and power will be tremendously inconvenienced while the ones who have contributed the least to the problems will suffer the most.

You do not have to worry about the world ending. The world will be just fine after human extinction. It’s the humans you need to worry about. Evolve or die.

Climate Change in keeping with past results will affect ocean currents. It causes the ocean to get warmer. Eventually it will shut down some of the currents which will eliminate overturning of oceanic waters. The result will be what is called a Canfield Ocean. Canfield Oceans result in hydrogen sulfide being given off as a by product from microorganisms that reside in the abyssal depths and won’t have oxygen for respiration; instead they will use sulfur as a proton donor. Instead of giving off the gases that they currently do as waste products, they will give off hydrogen sulfide. Life on earth, that is life on land and in most of the ocean won’t survive in an atmosphere that has hydrogen sulfide. It will knock off more than 90% of the life on Earth.
