Interesting article the other day based on an interview with a guy who makes a “decent living” making up right wing conspiracy theories, posting them on one of his web sites, and then harvesting clicks when he points at them on social media. The interesting takeaway for me: He has tried doing the same thing w/ liberal leaning falsehoods. Liberals tend to wonder if it’s supported by the facts, visit places like Snopes, and then don’t (much) repost. So he’s stopped: Not enough return return on his effort.
Since Republicans DON’T have anything good to go on, they HAVE to make up insane S#!% for their brain-damaged minions to grab on to and keep repeating…
Just how many conspiracy theorists are there who REALLY BELIEVE WHAT THEY’RE SPEWING? It’s mind boggling to think how many demented people there are who are so stupid…..
The Impeachment hearings inspired the Republicans to put forward every conspiracy theory they could think of, but one. They all missed a perfect opportunity to shout, as one: “Obama Did It!”.
If you can think of a conspiracy theory, someone has already made a web site for it.
If it’s on a web site, you can convince yourself it’s true.
And they’ve had a lifetime of immersion in faith-based beliefs for which evidence is declared null and void, and the bigger the whopper you can swallow, the better the person you must be. What do they call themselves? “Believers.”
I have relatives who, I hope are intelligent to some degree considering we share DNA, believe Sharia law is in the US, god created man in his likeness, the earth is flat, JFK conspiracy, Soros is indeed has funded many protests, and yada yada yada.
No, we did NOT do 9/11 to ourselves. No, Obama was NOT born in Kenya (and neither was Trump). No, we did NOT fake the moon landing, no, we do NOT currently fake the International Space Station, and, no, the Loch Ness Monster is NOT the mission commander of the International Space Station. Where do they GET these people?
I’m starting to feel that in a few years cartoons like this one will be blowing down empty streets similar to what I saw in “On The Beach.” The chaos is not stopping or even slowing and I worry about the future.
Somebody help me find the part in the Constitution after it gives us a method for removing a president, where it says, “…but you would be stealing an election if you do that.” Maybe in “Two Corinthians”? Or do you just have to repeat it enough times to make it become true?
Citing another of our (Brilliant !) fellow denizens of GC; “How sad it must be to be one of those cretinous MAGA hat wearing Trump supporters, believing that scientists, scholars, teachers, economists, and journalists have devoted their entire lives to deceiving you, while a corrupt reality TV star with a history of decades of fraud and documented lying (Trump) is your only beacon of truth and honesty.” – WOW !!!

The most laughable of all, is that Trump’s Ukraine shenanigans were because he cares about rooting out corruption.
