There’s something about edible mascots that seems — wrong. Next to rabbits, opossums are the most common roadkill I see. I have unavoidably run over many, mostly big old ones that don’t seem to CARE.
How daft was this Taft guy – “The thing which impresses me most is not the power I have to exercise under the Constitution, but the limitations and restrictions to which I am subject under that instrument.” Had he lived a century later he could have learnt from the stable genius on how to push the limits of the constitution given powers of the presidency.
You know, possums help keep the ticks and other parasites down (Taft was a more aggressive trust-buster than TR was.) And not quite a century later, there were folks who wanted a cartoon possum to run for president. Some of them, I suspect, were serious.
It indeed was bizarre for NBC News to complain that the impeachment proceeding were boring and lacked “pizzazz”! Thank you for once again being so quick to adopt current events to your comic Brian.

Lucky thing for Theodore that Taft hadn’t had a taste for Koala bear. That would seriously have put a dent in the Teddy Bear industry.

The correct spelling is “OPOSSUM”! Possums are from Australia.
