“Perfect” is the enemy of “good”. But it’s a pretty reasonable process that’s sifting out the also-ran pre-candidates. Umm. OK, I take back the “pretty” part: It’s moderately ugly, and it’s worse lately with some late-comers trying to cram in. I guess we’ll see.
Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy
Sounds like the republican plan. Lying clown republicans are saying anything to keep their fascist crooked lying leader in power.
Republicans put party over country and crooked lying Trump over party.
Leaked emails reveal Trump aide Stephen Miller’s white nationalist views
“They viewed immigration as a plot to undermine American sovereignty,” McHugh told the Guardian. “He wanted refugee resettlement cut to zero and an end to legal immigration.
Every Republican is now required to be just as ‘dumb’ as Trump
“I don’t mean any disrespect,” Kennedy said from the rally podium about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, “but it must suck to be that dumb.”
It’s an ironic insult given Kennedy prefaced it by saying he meant no disrespect.
“It’s a perfect illustration of how, in the Age of Trump, The Base now demands the performance of bludgeoning the various Enemies,” Holmes explained.
Indeed, Trump rallies are not merely about hearing the president speak or endorse whatever right-wing candidate is pulled from the annals of the tea party. They’re a show with hours of propaganda-fueled speeches, chanting and attacks for anyone with a “D” next to their name.
Conservative Bill Kristol made a similar observation Wednesday night, saying that a central tenet of Trumpism is “petty vindictiveness and cowardly bullying.”
In the United States, the government is, by design, of the people, by the people, and for the people. Neither Democrats nor Republicans are supposed to run things their way but work together for We the People. The needs of We the People should outweigh the needs of private exclusive groups such as businesses, political parties, etc. The plurality of voters are independent/unaffiliated, yet the two minority party that have entrenched themselves into the political system seem to have forgotten that once elected they are to serve, not control, We the People. Their closed primaries and other acts of exclusion, seem to have bred evil partisanship that is destructive to our constitutional democratic republic. Claiming one is less evil than the other does not make either one good. We the People deserve better.
The line from “I, Claudius” is often quoted: “Let all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out.” So, are we in the Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, or Nero era? How soon might we get a Marcus Aurelius? And would such a one be truly what we need? Emperors, kings, dictators — humans always slide back on the greased pole with Democracy the prize at the top.
I don’t think there are any Democrats demanding that their candidate be perfect. That’s a meme spread by neoliberals in the Democratic party. But there are people running for president who, while not perfect, are head and shoulders above the establishment Democrats in the race.
Said it before, saying it again: if the economy tanks, or if their own precious fiefdoms are in danger, the Republicans in the Senate WILL vote to oust the career criminal, rapist, and traitor Donald Trump. The best we can hope for is them doing the right thing for the wrong reason.

Exactly! The Dems really should shut up about their less than perfect candidates. Any one of them is still infinitely better than the Baby Crime Boss.
