I think this will not go well for Democrats – but then, I also think they probably know that. They’re likely responding to the uprising of progressive challengers to the do-nothing (when it comes to impeachment) Democratic incumbents, but they’re setting up the impeachment inquiries to fail. They’ll produce the appearance of action, while ensuring that nothing actually happens. In any case, the phone call to Zelensky is a frail reed on which to build an impeachment. I read a lot of the (unredacted???) transcript,
and while, IMO, it exposes Zelensky as far too much like Trump, I just don’t see why it should have led Pelosi to flip from her objections to impeachment. Trump says some stupid stuff (such as, the fired prosecutor was “very good”, “very fair”), but I see no “quid pro quo”.
I do think that, if Biden gets the nomination, it will be an utter disaster.
The Ukraine phone call doesn’t bother me nearly as much as Trump’s private meetings with Putin, with NO American translator present. (As for Helsinki, when Trump came out of that private meeting with Putin, and then defended him—“Why would it be Russia?”—even Steve Bannon, of all people, pointed out that Trump looked like a whipped dog.)The bribes that Trump takes OPENLY weren’t enough to get the Dems to begin impeachment? But the cover-up of the phone call was? Oh, well, let’s enjoy the ride.
As with Nixon, I don’t think the “crime” was as significant as the “cover-up.” Someone should read “The Emperor’s New Clothes” to Hair Furor at bedtime. He probably wouldn’t get it, but someone should make the effort.

Since I refused to watch the Anathema in January 2017 I don’t know that It was truly sworn in. Was it on a Bible or “The Art of the Deal”?

“Ok, no problem. What favor?” asks the judge. “Oh, just don’t blow any whistles, ok?” Says Trump.

Does an oath of office have any meaning when it’s administer by one dishonest sonofabitch scoundrel to another like this?
