My poor Spicy (lower right in my avatar) has been to the house of pokes and prods twice in the last 3 days. She had an anal gland cancer removed 7 months ago, and seems to have a recurrence. EVERYONE wants her to turn around! Poor girl, but she is a good sport.
National Coffee With a Cop Day. I’m not sure, but I think my hometown does this once a month. I’ve never gone to it though.
National Walk to School Day. I did this from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Then grades 9-12, I sometimes got a ride to school from one of my brothers when he had sports practice after school. But otherwise, we walked to the grade school where we caught the bus to the high school.
National Name Your Car Day. I named my Malibu Merry. That’s because I didn’t have enough money to pay cash for it and I had to make payments. It was a 3-year payment plan, but I got it paid in 25 months. My thought was that I was going to feel very merry when it was paid off. Also, I picked that name because my sister Mary also has a Malibu.
Today is our second day of ‘poking’ our nine year old “Kitty” with a needle. She was recently diagnosed as being diabetic…..this is all new to me, but we love our kitty so I’m sure we’ll get use to it soon.
I have two brothers who were Kroger’s Supermarkets store managers. Dave was in Ohio for 15 years. His wife has cancer. Yesterday he was called out of town where he was fired on the spot for no reason and told to turn over his keys and ID. They generously gave him one month of medical coverage. He is not allowed to talk about this on social media. Dave is looking for work but his resume is on his work computer at Kroger’s and he is not allowed back there. By odd coincidence, I have another brother, Jerry, in Virginia, who is 60 and has a 10 month old daughter. He, too, is a Kroger’s manager and was called out of town and fired. Now I have to start shopping at Walmart.
I couldn’t take the toe pain any more so I went to urgent care at 7 this morning. They did an xray and it really is broken. He asked if wanted something stronger than Tylenol but added that he thought if I just added Aleve twice a day to the Tylenol, I should see less pain. I agreed. I really didn’t want any opioids. He put me in the shoe thing and sent the referral to my orthopedist in St George for a follow-up. Everyone over there was super nice.
On one hand, I can’t blame Chesney for not wanting to be poked or prodded. On the other hand, I feel sorry for the vet for having to deal with Chesney. On another note, saw a Stellar’s Jay outside.
