If anyone investigates the Russian hacking they’re bound to stumble over the GOP efforts at voter suppression.

    Can’t have that.

Trump’s tweeting, racist rants, bizarre statements are a strategic effort to distract and divert attention from…

    • REDISTRIBUTING trillions of dollars from middle class working people to the few richest elites who already have the most

    • financial scandals and corruption on a massive scale that are likely to send him and his family to jail once they no longer have the protection from a corrupt consigliere as Attorney General

    • the fact that he only got “elected” (with three million fewer votes than his opponent) because of massive voter suppression coupled with massive Russian interference in the election process and in illegal use of stolen data and massive media manipulation including unauthorized access to personal data of social media users

    • the fact that the Russians are not only still engaged in the same political interference for the 2020 cycle, but they are doing it on an even more massive scale, and the White House and senate is complicit, with #MoscowMitch blocking all efforts at election security in exchange for a Russian oligarch, Oleg Deripaska (who is mentioned repeatedly in the Mueller report), “investing” more than $200 million in a Kentucky aluminum plant, just as #MoscowMitch is up for reelection.

… that, and because he is in the late stages of advanced dementia (Trump is NOT playing twelve dimensional chess).

Wait…I thought his racist tweets were trying to distract us from the fact that he was a member of Jeffrey Epstein’s statutory rape club.

Could the current Republican party survive if our constitutional democratic republic was fully functional, unencumbered by gerrymandering, the inappropriate use of the EC, and other dirty tricks?

Trump’s MO: Deny, Deflect, Distract. Rogers has it right, there is always something else going on. What a mess Trump has made – and the republicans are complicit in every bit of it.

Oh, the Russian Hacking and Interference is nothing to worry about. Mr. McConnell is making sure of that. After all, they’re interfering and hacking on behalf of the Reich – excuse me, I meant “Right” – people. And doing such a good job, he’s getting paid for it.

The poor Donald must distract from some many things it’s hard to decide. There’s also that mental status thing causing random outbreaks of rancor.

I would imagine Trump is glad to have an actual enemy to have everyone focus on. Usually his tweets are just to make sure everybody hates him ‘cuz he knows they’re going to anyway.

Very little of what Trump does is deliberate distracting of the media (or the voters). Not only is he a compulsive liar, he has a sad, sick, pathetic need for attention—he is a compulsive attention-seeker. The plain reason for his racist rants? He’s a racist. The plain reason for his “bizarre statements”? He is seriously mentally ill (with or without a side order of dementia). When the House reconvenes, it will no doubt hold more hearings into both the Russian attacks on our democracy, and the criminal Friends of Donald. And when it does, Li’l Donnie’s racist rants and bizarre statements will neither increase nor decrease, because they aren’t really any kind of tactic to distract after all.

Thanks Rob; I think you’re right. The why for those particularly savage tweets has been puzzling me for the last several days

I see that the Pittsburgh paper that fired our cartoonist is down to three newspapers per week. I wonder if the readers left en masse after the firing?

There was a tremendous tragedy afoot in America yesterday. Some silly thing about bangety-bangs pushed the resident of the White House out of all the headlines! Outrageous! Can’t the lamestream media read the Constitution? It clearly requires that every single day must feature the resident as their top story. But such disrespect is probably the best we can expect from the Enemy of the People.
