Telling minorities — especially U.S. citizens who are elected REPRESENTATIVES in Congress — to “go back where you came from” is the epitome of racism. Any federal civil service employee would be fired for that. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines specifically cite that wording as an ETHNIC EPITHET.
And Donald Trump especially cannot complain about those born in foreign countries (especially when almost all he cited were born in the USA…
Trump’s grandfather was not born in the U.S. (Germany)
Trump’s mother was not born in the U.S. (Scotland)
Trump’s first wife was not born in the U.S. (Czechoslovakia)
Trump’s current wife was not born in the U.S. (Slovenia)
And what makes it racist is that all of the above are fine In Trump world BECAUSE THEY ARE WHITE.
You know, it’s a very good bet that most Americans with apparent African ancestry have roots going (much) farther back in the U.S. than even a majority, perhaps, of European-Americans. E.g. the current PяesiDunce…
Trump doubles down on his racists tweets because it actually helps his standing with a large portion of his followers and distracts everyone else. Everyone’s talking about Trump’s racist tweets instead of about Trump’s concentration camps, Trump’s possible involvement in the Epstein scandal, or impeachment hearings.
I wonder what other malfeasance this latest anti-American tirade is covering up in the resident’s mission to upend our constitutional democratic republic and become our first king?
All that remains is for Mr. Trump to say that there’s nothing wrong the N-word is polite society anymore. Because, after all, “Those Tweets were NOT Racist. I don’t have a Racist bone in my body!” Can you imagine what he might have said if he did have such a bone?
Trump wants to take us back to the good ol’ days. Like 1965. That year, George Lincoln Rockwell produced posters with bogus offers to ship African-Americans to Africa. On the Coon-ard Lines. (I decided against providing a link. If you want to be enraged and nauseated at the same time, they’re out there).
And for those who like such stuff, may you be thrust into the future as delineated in Farnham’s Freehold.
People say.. seems to be a favorite rational for trumps decisions. I think we / you should be worried about just who those people are. Judging by what he hears.. he seems to be listening to the village idiots at Fox News more than the ones the taxpayer hired for advice.. and even those guys are suspect.
Even if trump and the republicans don’t think his tweet was ’racist, it still was a disgusting thing to say for the leader of our country. Unite us and stop dividing us!!
It all logically fits his (and now Republican) overriding political strategy: pick a target (the squad) to brand the entire Democratic party as evil, un-American, socialist, communist (thanks, L. Graham – nice move), etc for an easy walk through the 2020 election. Smart? We shall see……
Several years ago when a student rapes at major US universities was a hot story a study was published in which college men were questioned on their feelings / beliefs on rape. The interesting this is that one upshot was that those who had committed rape always had a “posse”, a group of fellow male students who were willing to go along with, even if they didn’t participate in, the rape. Since reading that I’ve noticed the posse scenario play out over and over again in all kinds of venues. Trump’s “many people say” or “many people agree” is just him creating his own (imaginary) posse.
Hopefully, it’s down into the fiery pits of hell. Heard that Satan is setting up a new ring of Hell for Twitler and his Kool-aid drinking followers. It’s going to have yuuuuuge orange flames. The best orange flames. They are going to be amazing, beautiful! Everyone is talking about it.
By Jonathan A. Greenblatt, CEO and national director of the Anti-Defamation League
BEGINS:
President Donald Trump is facing a firestorm of controversy over his recent racist and xenophobic tweetstorm attacking liberal freshman members of Congress. And for good reason: His series of tweets suggesting that four U.S. congresswoman should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came” reads as if it was ripped from a white supremacist manifesto.
It was shocking to hear the leader of the free world make such offensive statements about other elected leaders. But it didn’t stop there. As the criticism increased, rather than retract his statements, the president instead doubled down, insisting that he’s not racist and that the members he’s attacking hate America and hate Israel.
…
While I also have been deeply troubled — even at times disgusted — by comments from some of these congresswomen about Israel and Jews and have disagreed strongly with some of their policy statements, none of that justifies speaking in such racist and xenophobic terms.
And let’s be clear: Trump’s language was absolutely and unquestionably racist despite his denials to the contrary.

It is past time to start impeachment proceedings or invoking the 25th Amendment because of his mental/psychological issues.
