    I can’t believe Honeybunch doesn’t clean the refrigerator more often than that. Even I’m better than that. Stuff in my fridge is only a few weeks old.

    Open it. If it’s white and not hard as a rock, you’re probably still okay (and you’ve got a good refrigerator).

    If it’s green, use whatever procedures you have in place for handling toxic wastes.

    I had to throw out some toothpaste when I learned that it expires just like food. I also buy small tubs of buttery spread, since they’re less likely to spoil quickly.

    I ate sour cream that was 6 months out of code… It was fine, it was already sour, does it un sourwhen it goes bad?

    It makes me laugh when I see pickles and ketchup in refrigerators. The whole idea behind pickling is to preserve foods so they won’t go bad. And who on earth likes cold ketchup on hot food?

    Tossed some cans of salmon last week, they had Best By dates in 2005. I think a friend gave them to us in 2012 when they moved to CA.
