The way he’s standing doesn’t look too comfortable.

I hope you will have a selection of different style of shorts instead of them gawd-awful polka dot things.

But maybe it is time for me to move from HIS public arena!

I am almost positive I have met Gary previously. And that eye bleach was liberally dispensed on that occasion. So I likely have enough left to handle today’s Gary moment. I keep encouraging him to run for office. I tell him his campaign slogan should be “I have nothing to hide.”

At the Cleo & Company for today, to which DennisinSeattle has provided the link above, I had a friend about forty years ago who would always follow that expression with “Stop eating your toys!”

Looks like this particular bag of Kibbles™ has been in the pantry a tad too long. It’s alive!!!

I see that Cleo is admonished for playing with her food…

In the January 25th, 2021 “Cleo and Company”, …on Sherpa….

but tell me… who is she supposed to play with?

I don’t see any doggie play dates lined up for her, or any doggie friends knocking at the door.

Not even visits to the dog park.

I realise that most of the neighborhood dogs are a little put off by Cleo’s losing behavior…

I mean, you know, the weapons and all….

and it’s not much fun always having to let her win.

In fact, even when Claude and Clara play a game with her… well, we saw what happened to Claude’s poor little Monopoly car the other day.

So why not play with some nice, friendly kibble?

The kibble’s not afraid…. considering the alternative.

It would MUCH rather play video games than face the inevitable…

    and it can always hope….

if it manages to keep her distracted long enough, it might get too stale to eat, and be a permanent plaything.

( Um… but just between you and me, though… I have to say that a bag of kibble doesn’t have a great understanding of how things work. )

Meanwhile… It feels welcome, cos it knows how much Cleo likes it.

It’s willing to sit on the floor for days on end…

    and it never gets tired.

And it plays enthusiastically, as if its very life depended on it…

always believing that it has victory in the bag!

Meanwhile, Cleo figures it’s only a minor transgression…

since she didn’t hear a single “Confound it” in Clara’s reprimand.

This would have been better if Cleo and Kibble Bag had been at the bottom of a well on a desert island and the red button said, “Do Not Push.”

Cleo would stop playing with her food, but she has a bet with kibble. If she wins, she gets to eat kibble. If kibble wins, he gets to eat Cleo.
