Memories of taking the cover off the air cleaner, 2 or 3 of us standing there staring at the carb. Would then pour a bit of gas down the throat of the carb, jam it open with a screwdriver and usually away we would go. Old mid 60’s Pontiacs and Chevies and Fords. Fill the oil and check the gas. hahaha They were nothing to look at or brag about but they got us there and got us back and we weren’t making payments on them. We used to call them " $200 cars ".
Yes. That too .
You must be young. You would have cringed reading the old Andy Capp comics from 50 years ago. Our newspaper actually quit running it due to it making light of wife beating.
I never notice those things.
Same as Manitoba. The government doesn’t want to lose that tax revenue. ( Although I suppose there is a bigger picture that I’m not seeing )
Holy smokes. I WISH I had a few minutes to sit on the couch with my head on my hand like that.
The two old dolls are probably sitting down at the end of the bar. You boys should go chat them up before someone else sees them.
I feel Calvin’s angst. I remember very well having to play baseball at recess and for phys ed. I wasn’t good at it. Couldn’t hit a ball if it stood still in front of me and couldn’t catch, either. It was torture for me. To this very day I hate sports of all kinds.
I know this is just a comic strip but in real life , yes, she should be supportive. At least he is home with her trying to share his new interest. I have known more than a few guys over the years that head straight for the garage or basement work shop when they get home from work. That is IF they come home at all.
Yup. Truth. :-(
