Earl’s reply: Everyone, from artist to athlete to author, gets in a slump once in awhile. What you need to do is go away for a couple of weeks, say to your sister’s house, and find your muse. Sure I will miss you terribly, but we have no right to deprive the world of your talent.

Actually, I think Earl was correct (even without his addendum). Art is subjective. I, for one, have never managed to appreciate the work of Jackson Pollock. So if asked, I would say Mr. Pollock lacks talent in my opinion. But my opinion doesn’t make it so. So well done, Earl, in either sense.
