Then you see Trump citing his attendance at Wharton (while threatening to SUE them if they DARE tell the truth about his record) and it makes you wonder just how much Daddy paid to get Donnie pushed through on a legacy admission.
Legacy admissions — Affirmative Action for the rich.
And we can’t forget how Trump demanded — DEMANDED! — that Obama release his full school records, as if the very public record of having graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he also was the first African American to be selected as editor of the prestigious Harvard Law Review wasn’t enough.
So let’s see Trump’s birth certificate, full school records, full tax records (personal and business, as he promised) and the full immigration record of Melania and her chain migration family.
Lori loughlins daughter on you tube or instagram or wherever the hell these dimbulbs post “I just want the college experience, homecoming, the partying, I’m not sure I even want to go to college.” (Not an exact quote, it gagged me listening to it)
Utter mediocrity posing as the cream of meritocracy; our higher education system reduced to a scam that puts hard working people in lifelong crushing debt while the dullest doorknobs born into wealth pretend they’re the elite. No wonder our future’s so bright we have to wear shades! (/s) The best part: eventually we’ll HAVE to invite foreigners into our country to handle any task that requires a legitimate education…including our government. But I’m sure yelling “MAGA!” over and over will save us! (also /s)
People are acting like this is a brand new concept. People are demanding to see transcripts. That is laughable. Money is power and that power corrupts, and that is age old. Corruption can happen anywhere. The pride in the degree power has almost always overshadowed the pride of the effort put in and the degree of achievement. You want to see grades? Puhleeease! You don’t think transcripts would have already been massaged long ago enough to give them happy endings? These people care nothing about accomplishments earned and the only papers that passed had green backs and pictures of dead presidents. This is nothing new. Disgusting and pitiful yes, but not new.
This was wrong, of course, but it’s just slightly more wrong than what’s been going on forever. Rich folks buy their way into whatever school they want. Then they buy their grades. Then they buy their way into a career. It’s the rich white way.
What? I am shocked, simply shocked to find that the rich and powerful are using their influence to rig the system and cheat their way to more wealth and power. Simply shocked!
And I’m shocked, simply shocked to find that people will politicize this issue to take shots at trump. Simply shocked! Oh, wait…no I’m not. lolI heard some nitwit on the radio yesterday try to blame this on liberals, lefty schools and hollywood elites. Folks, while I’m sure there are some people involved who have strong political affiliations and may be active in politics on either the left or the right, this is simply about wealthy people using their money and influence to “help” their kids and the greedy, corrupt people who took their money.
Hi peons, I’m a millionaire and you’re not. Just to let you know, all that extra money I’m getting back because of the trumpster’s new tax laws? Fear not for it has been well invested. Now my C average child is happily chugging beer at Smarmy U. and yours are not. HaHa
I’m (almost) surprised that these (somewhat) rich and famous parents still think it’s worthwhile to pretend that their children have marketable skills.
But I guess they’re so used to lying and cheating, that they’d be uncomfortable removing an opportunity to do so.
The big collge football and basketball factories have always been cesspools of corruption—but now the sports tail is wagging the university dog more than ever at any time of history. (If everything about the big football and basketball factories that could be known was actually known—a big if—and IF the NCAA followed it’s own rules—a much bigger if—would any football team be eligible for bowl games, or any basketball team eligible for the tournament? In a word, no.) Okay, I don’t like it, but I accept it. And I don’t like unqualified people getting into high-toned schools (social capital can be as important as monetary capital) only because of legacies. I also don’t like the dreaded “gentleman’s C” but that’s another story. But this HERE scandal right shocks me!
Actually, my tuition for 4 years of state university was only about what my son’s tuition per SEMESTER was at a state JC! Of course mine was in the 60’s and his 2016. We both got help from GI bills.
Oh, stop worrying. With that multi-trillion dollar tax cut the Rich got last year, bribing one’s way into the elite Colleges and Universities is much easier now.
But, some of them Had to get the kid into Yale or he would not have been able to use his Legacy Status to get into Skull & Bones like his Father and all his Grandfathers, back to when Yale and Skull & Bones were founded.
