The resident may not have good grades in school or been the dealmaker he thinks he is and claims to be but he knows how to appeal to those feelings that they’re the underdogs in a constitutional democratic republic that doesn’t treat their race/religion as special as a nationalist, isolationist, supremacist, misogynist, xenophobic, narcissistic authoritarian with the same feeling would. No matter how you use/abuse the flag, it does not turn nationalism into patriotism. Without knowing what the US is supposed to be, people have let politicians and the wealthy interpret the Constitution to their own advantage. We get the government we deserve.

Seeing a picture of Trump hugging the flag made me wonder if Mr. Trump is a performance artist a la the late, great Andy Kaufman.

Just when I was wondering if Brian was giving up TPO for Lent…..Were all the people at the CPAC convention blithering idiots? Of course not, only the ones cheering and applauding for Trump. Trump has never, in his contemptible life, done anything deserving of cheers and applause. He is, quite simply, incapable of doing anything deserving of cheers and applause. And that flag thing…I’m pretty sure that if I didn’t already know he’s a pervert, THAT would have made me bleedin’ WONDER!
