It is a national embarrassment to the United States to have a fake, unelected, Russian-installed “president,” who can’t even walk up steps without having toilet paper stuck to his shoe, can’t manage an umbrella (except to have one for himself while his wife and child walk in the rain) and can’t even speak coherently.
But when it is the Constitution itself that he trashes, it is likely that even the CONservatives, who call themselves “Constitutional conservatives” and “Constitutional originalists,” and (as former Senator Claire McCaskill reported Lawerence O’Donnell’s program tonight) were so quick to wave their little pocket Constitutions in PROgressives’ faces, will shoot down this naked power grab.
Even Steven Miller, the Goebbels reincarnation, on Faux “News” Sunday yesterday with Chris Wallace, could not cite an incident in which a president successfully overruled congress on a budget decision, which the Constitution explicitly reserves EXCLUSIVELY to the Congress, and which the Supreme Court, led by its conservatives, has repeatedly ruled the Congress cannot delegate because the power is exclusively congressional.
Many CONservatives are also terrified of a President Elizabeth Warren in 2021 armed with the precedent of declaring a “national emergency” to address the epidemic of gun violence, the real health care emergency and the actual climate crisis.
I think it’s another sign of hiring only the “best people” for their jobs. Remember the First Lady’s “I don’t care. Do U?” jacket. Now the president himself leaving a “paper trail.” They don’t need the Secret Service, they need Nanny McPhee.
He actually seems to have a need to step on the Constitution all the time. ‘I didn’t need to do this’ is what he should say when he orders dessert, not when he orders a national emergency.
Digressing to the original toilet paper scenario: Why had no one told him he had the TP on his foot? No one noticed it, or were they all snickering behind their hands?
Any judges who would pretend that Trump’s blatant power grab is the least bit constitutional will plainly wreck their own reputations. If honesty isn’t enough to rule correctly, the judges ought to at least consider the consequences.

He’s already used it for “that” purpose.

Maybe we should give him a copy of the Constitution printed on very coarse sand-paper.

Someone needs to publish a pop-up picture book Constitution for Big Toddler.

I’d have to say that the MAIN abuse of executive authority occurred on January 20, 2017. All of the other stuff is just a spin-off of THAT….

I strongly doubt that the Rump has ever been that close to the Constitution. At most, he’s heard rumors about the Constitution.
