The skin isn’t orange enough. And while that is the right salute for Trump to be giving, when others return the salute, most of them raise a different single digit.
Democrat or republican, it doesn’t matter. Your president has far too much power and that is dangerous. All parties that do not push for a change in the law are at risk of abusing that power. I wonder what you would do if the army got on its side and he refused to call for an election? Or, rigging the elections in advance? (like Putin, Erdogan, Kabila, …) In the end, ordinary citizens are always the losers.
I get the explanation, but not the joke, since who goes around declaring themselves a loser by making that sign on their forehead? Where did this idea come from?
Mr. Bennett, I have the greatest respect for your talent as an artist, but really the only artist I can think of who would do justice to Trump is James Ensor.
Trump has (mostly) been a winner all through his life. He was born on 3rd and still needed help to reach home base. But as long as he had that over the rest of us he still managed to win. Meaning he was just good enough to do a mediocre level of success. That was enough with his totally inherited wealth. But as I said last year, I think he has reached the level of his incompetency. Even so it is frustratingly hard to bring him down. But down he will go at the present rate.
@Cerabooge: “And that power was blithely handed to the president by Congress. The only ‘emergency power’ in the Constitution is the suspension of habeus corpus during rebellion or invasion.”
While I don’t expect the majority of the current Supreme Court to (publicly) agree with me, it seems to me that the Congressionally-passed law which gives the President that excess of power is itself unConstitutional, because it amounts to an amendment of the powers of both Congress and the President as defined in the Constitution itself, yet it did not undergo the Constitutionally required process for such an Amendment.
