Tom Toles has the right take on this. Republicans are hoping if they ignore the problem of climate change, it will go away. They’re right, if we continue to ignore it, SOMETHING is going to go away: human civilization. They are the party of no ideas.
I’ve done the energy modeling on my home and it would be cheaper to tear it down, relocate it on the property for better orientation to the sun in order to get to net-zero. To retrofit it where it is would cost more. I assume, since the government is paying for this, they would choose the cheaper method. I’m looking forward to the new home. I’ll make sure they do it right because I’ll be one of those “unwilling” to work and will be watching them build my home all day, every day and getting paid to do it. By the way, this will be true of many existing buildings, especially older, commercial/industrial buildings. Tear them all down. Half of NYC and Boston need to be razed. The carbon footprint of all this demolition will be huge.
Let democrats speak plainly, unencumbered by their leftist media clean-up crew. Nothing is more revealing than when we’re hearing a democrat totally unfiltered like when AOC published her Green New Deal online.
Going “green” means giving up a lot of what you kind of like… A real good starting example would be to stop drinking “anything” that did not come out of a water fountain or tap.
At first I was really upset that I was going to be required to rebuild or retrofit my home within 10 years. Then I found out she was going to borrow money from the Fed to pay for it.
I hope someone from the CTW sees this and is inspired to bring Rep Ocasio-Cortez to Sesame Street for an actual conversation with Kermit. After all, they will be the voters electing her to higher offices!
The truly frightening thing is, it was given approval by the leading candidates for President…Booker, Harris, Warren, and Gillibrand. Good news for the GOP – the folks in the middle will see how far left the democratic party has gone and reject their ideas loudly!
Besides attacking ideas which counter regression ( “rolling back” regulations which reduce fossil fuel consumption and despoiling the environment ), Ramirez, like #45 and other NJs, challenges our national security experts who maintain that climate change is an actual issue.

What’s your excuse for being ‘red’ Ramirez ? A giant wad of oil soaked dollars ? Is it worth the future of your kids ?

Question: Will we run out of sunshine, oil or clean air/water first?

It is, however, apparently easy to be a conservative with a childlike petulance.

I call on all good Conservatives to work as hard as they can to destroy our environment, for the reason that it will make the Liberals mad.

So, what’s YOUR solution to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by half in 12 years, Mr Ramirez?
