For my money, the DNA test was a waste of time. She never claimed more than a “family tradition” (there are many such, mostly involving Cherokee because, I suppose, they survived as a sizable group among European settlers in the eastern United States longer than most Indian tribes). But one look at her face, and those prominent cheek-bones in what are otherwise rather dainty features, spells “Native American” in capital letters.
i do think she should have let it rest – my understanding is that reps from recognized tribes give her stick on the issue – but in comparison with Trump’s background, not sure how that ways up to, and just going to keep it simple, adultery, housing discrimination, and sexual harassment/rape charges.
She has exaggerated one fact and she’s a lying &$+=#¥. Trump has done nothing but lie his whole life and gets a pass from the Republicans. What’s up with that??
I said this on another thread…she’s running. No doubt, whatsoever. It’s no secret that it’s been her goal all along. I doubt she gets anywhere close to the nomination, though. You can defend her native American claims all you want but they are going to continue to haunt her. She’s not very well liked here in her own state, which is exceedingly liberal. A recent poll in NH of registered dems did not look good for her. She’s already concentrating on Iowa where they have less close-up experience of her. She’s represented her state poorly and has basically been doing what benefits her ambitions rather than focusing on being a Senator ever since being elected. I don’t like her chances.
Warren is a great senator. She’s one of the smartest people in government now. The next president is going to have a really tough job putting the country back together. We need a good look at all of the contenders—there are a lot of good people in the running. At the moment, I favor Kamala Harris, but I could change my mind depending on how things develop.
My mom denied ancestry for decades, growing up in Yakima, she always had bad things to say about the Yakima. Then it turned out her dad grew up on the reservation and his best friend was a guy named Will Rogers, she had the photos, letters and diaries, sadly lost during one of her moves when a lot of items “disappeared” with the movers. Cherokee btw had a lot of “inbreeding” with whites over the decades, and when they were driven out of the south, more were Christians (practicing) than in Jackson’s Congress.(Jerks and thieves, who would be proud to serve Bonespurs today)
Warren will be taunted with all the jibes from Bonespurs and others, I like her on most things, but don’t think she could win and may serve better in the Senate. Simply put, she has proven over decades of service that she has more integrity in her little finger than the entire body of Bonespurs supporters could muster.
And her DNA contains more human genes than Bonespurs.
The whole point of an exploratory committee is to see how the potential candidate plays with the voters. She’s very valuable in the Senate as well, so as far as I’m concerned: Win / win.
This whole DNA business is a red herring. It’s so silly I’m surprised so many people are buying it and getting upset about it… The ones pushing it are grasping at straws to pin something disgraceful on her.
We don’t need a woman in the White House. We need a person who has Elizabeth Warren’s attitude that she is a daughter of the middle class and fighting for them. And, we need someone who has the intelligence and education to take on an establishment that is rigged to benefit the rich. The fact that the person who best meets that criteria happens to be a female is irrelevant. I have already established a monthly donation through Act Blue to her campaign and urge everyone else to do the same. If it matters to you that she’s a woman or some issue about her ancestors, fine with me. I want her to be president because no one else comes close to promising to be a great one. And, to be totally honest, I kind of like that she’s a woman, too. But, I would vote, work and donate to someone with her credentials without regard to any personal characteristics.

The DNA test proved exactly what Warren had always said – she had a great-great-grandmother that had Native American blood.

Change the running figure to Mr. Trump and change the post to his stupid wall, and . . . . .

I like how she triggers the cons.

Just a reminder- the big orange baby promised to give $1,000,000 to charity if Warren took a DNA test. Of course, he never did.

She’s starting up an exploratory committee. That means she’s seriously thinking about running, not running yet. Don’t jump to conclusions.

Are you kowtowing to the minions of Cadet Bonespurs who imply that it’s somehow shameful to have Native American ancestors?

There’s too much truth in that strip. She has great value in the senate, and there’s no shortage of potential Democratic candidates.
