Trump (along with other Faux “News” hosts, most notably the now-defunct Bill O’Reilly) FIBricates a fake “war on Christmas” (no, Democrats never stopped saying “Merry Christmas” [along with inclusive welcoming of other holidays], as numerous montages of both the Clinton and Obama families / administrations uttering the phrase), to distract from the TrumpubliCON very real WAR ON SCIENCE, WAR ON FACTS, WAR ON REALITY.

TrumpubliCONs NEED a war on science and a war against education because they depend on an ignorant, uneducated voting populace to keep them in office.

We see it in the attacks on not only climate science, but the war against evolution, the war against immunizations.

We see it in the amazing resurgence of people who are seriously arguing that the earth is flat and not spherical and that the earth, not the sun, is the center of the solar system.

Climate deniers are just the latest incarnation of Flat Earth superstitious ignorance.

Trying to be “fair and balanced” is false “equivalence.” There is nothing remotely approaching balance between climate scientists and climate deniers (most funded by big energy corporations).

The idea of a “war on Christmas” is actually a coverup of some Christian’s war on everything which isn’t Christmas, and their demand that people of all other religions honor ONLY Christmas and ignore their own beliefs.

Whenever there’s a great brouhaha about something that strikes an emotional chord in some percentage of the population – WATCH OUT! – There’s something going on someone doesn’t want you to see. It’s a cover-up!

Rapid climate change is probably the greatest existential threat modern humans have faced, but we, as a species have been unable to give a unified response or even agree on the existence of the threat. Far too many of us, including our president/denier-in-chief seem to think that ignoring a problem makes it go away. It doesn’t, and Mr President, if you pull your head out of your rear, you’ll stop hearing all the crazy things your gut is telling you and you can listen to what the experts are saying.

That Christmas book has like four whole pages, and probably doesn’t mention TRUMP at all. He’d NEVER read it!

I always thought that it was HILARIOUS that the year that Billow Reilly created that whole “War on Christmas” B.S. from NOTHING, the official FAUX Noise store was offering the “Billow Reilly HOLIDAY ORNAMENT” for sale. NOT a “Christmas Ornament”, by the way…

Trump wants all government reports in Christmas card form. Colorful pictures and very few words.

Be sure to have a Ferocious Festivus on Dec. 23. That is the day for the Airing of Grievances, which of course the Right does all year long. It’s all the fault of Blacks and other minorities, women, immigrants, scientists, teachers, atheists, mainstream Christians, Jews, Muslims, LGBTQs, and indeed everybody but rich White male Fundamentalists. Making them equal to everybody else is genocide, and slavery, and treason, and everything else that we have been doing to everybody else at home and around the world.

As the Fool’s Golden Rule says,

Do unto others before they have a chance to do unto you.

The British medical journal Lancet has published

The 2018 report of the Lancet Countdown on health and climate change: shaping the health of nations for centuries to come

Some of the little facts about current effects of global warming:

157 million more people experienced a heat wave in 2016 than in 2000—12.3 million Americans. That heat and the injuries that can come from it cost the world 153 billion hours of labor—1.1 billion in the US. The geographic range of the mosquitoes that carry dengue fever, Zika, malaria, and chikungunya is spreading. So is the range of the bacterium that causes cholera. Global crop yield is going down.

In other words, it is not just a problem of the future.

    https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736%2818%2932594-7/fulltext#%20

And for the deniers: The authors are mostly associated with the medical and health profession. They aren’t getting money from grants on climate modeling. Their interest is prevention of medical problems. But then some of you blame doctors for speaking out against guns. Gosh, by the denier logic, they should be praising guns so that they can have more patients and more money. See how dumb that logic is? Denier logic is just as dumb.

Here’s one take on the Lancet article and on the recent government report.

    And in WaPo this Sunday:

    Five myths about climate change

Myth No. 1 Climate scientists are in it for the money.

Myth No. 2 The climate has changed before. It’s just a natural cycle.

Myth No. 3 Climate scientists are split on whether it’s real.

Myth No. 4 Climate change won’t affect me.

Myth No. 5 It’s cold outside — global warming can’t be real.
