Ramirez wants a streamlined government, with everything under the control of a republican president (as long as he, Ramirez, gets to pick who it is).

Reminds me of a cartoon of a used car salesman offering a secondhand bus to a fellow wearing a collar/ “This model is special-made for vestries. One gas pedal, four steering wheels, and ten sets of brakes.”

Not quite. In 2016 the American people voted to put a Democrat, Hillary Clinton in charge, but Putin, and our antiquated electoral system gave the presidency to Trump. In the 2018 elections more people voted for Democrats in both the house and senate elections – bit the Republicans kept the senate because the seats that were contested were favourable to Republicans and also because the nation is divided into a few large “blue” states and many small “red” states. It would be logical and fair to say that the American people want the Democrats, and only the Democrats to be in charge.

There’s a Tяumpy who’s sure all that glitters is gold

And he’s buying the stairway to prison

When he gets there he knows, if the whores are all clothed

With some cash he can get golden showers

Ooh, ooh, and he’s buying the stairway to prison

There’s covfefe on the screen, but he wants to be sure

‘Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings

In a court, by the book, there’s songbirds who sing

Sometimes all of his plots are misgiven

    Ooh, he can really blunder

    Ooh, he can really blunder

There’s a feeling I get when I look for his best

And my spirit is crying for heaving

In my thoughts I have seen resistance and the rest

And the voices of those who stood voting

    Ooh, he can really blunder

    Ooh, he can really blunder

And it’s whispered that soon, if we all go to vote

Then we’ll lead the victors to reason

And a new day will dawn for those who stood long

And history will echo with laughter

    does anybody remember laughter?

If there’s a bustle in Mar a Lago, don’t be alarmed now

It’s just a police raid for the hard drives

Yes, there are two Feds he can’t buy, but in the long run

There’s still time to change the road he’s on

    And he can really blunder

His head is humming and it won’t go, in case he don’t know

His twitter’s calling you to scorn him

Dear Donald, it’s not about dough, you gotta go

Your stairway lies on so many sins

And as we wind on down the road

Our shadows taller than our soul

There tweets a con-man we all know

Who says might’s right and doesn’t know

How nothing he touches turns to gold

And if he listens very hard

The tune will come to him at last

When all are one and one is all

To be a dunce and not to know

And he’s buying the stairway to prison

Ah, Mikey forgets that the House is the chamber the people decide on an actual population basis.

While Wyoming — for instance — gets two senators with a total population of only 580,000, Virginia — also for instance — gets two senators with a population of eight-and-a-half million. Yet Wyoming only has one Congress Member and Virginia has 11 Members of Congress.

Wyoming is so dinky that it’s Senate delegation is twice the size of its House Delegation. Virginia’s House Delegation is more than five times larger than its Senate delegation.

This is precisely the problem with the Electoral College. Way too much representation is based on nothingness, just because. Not enough of the EC is based on actual votes.

At least, although the Senate gets complete control over appointments, all matters fiscal must originate in the House. What that means is that never again will Trump be able to push through another of his all for the wealthy tax plans.

But, we’ll be able to impeach his judges if they don’t follow the dictates of the US Constitution…and I guarantee after the first couple of judges are impeached, the rest will fall in line.

    @Mr. Jlocke

Sept. 17, 1787: All 12 state delegations approve the Constitution, 39 delegates sign it of the 42 present.

June 21, 1788: The Constitution becomes effective for the ratifying states when New Hampshire is the ninth state to ratify it.

UNITED STATES CODE TITLE 3 – THE PRESIDENT

Chapter 1. Presidential Elections and Vacancies

§ 3. The number of electors shall be equal to the number of Senators and Representatives to which the several States are by law entitled at the time when the President and Vice President to be chosen come into office.

States are not We the People, people are. District of Columbia folks are not ‘state’ residents, nor are U.S. resident Puerto Ricans. They can both vote.

Trying to picture even tiny Rhode Island trying to fit into a voting booth…

Let’s see, Republicans driving a huge, gas guzzling, inefficient, wee, tiny, penis compensating man-truck. Got it.

Democrats driving a common sense, efficient, street car. Got it.

This may be a little tough until the Democrats realize that all they have to do to steer the Republicans in the proper direction is to look in the rear-view mirror and drive in reverse. Let the man-truck do all the heavy pushing, let the speedster do the steering. You may have to do it in reverse, but you’ll get across the finish line.

Maybe this is how America SHOULD work. Each doing what they do best, cooperating towards a common good?

Nah, Ramirez would never suggest that.
