Another casualty. A loose end had been tied. So many lost. But Endtown survives.

That’s a very big cemetery, considering the size of Endtown, or should it be Endmetropolis now?

Look at those first two panels. They look like teeth. Could this be a foreshadowing that Jolene might be the next “pig slaughter” victim?

I’m glad to see that Jolene is okay, and that she thinks about her friend. Everything that had happened to Heather happened while she was recovering from surgery.

This feels like an epilogue of sorts. First we have Dottie crawl back to The Examiner, and now we see Jolene paying a visit to Heather’s grave. I can’t help but wonder if the two of them will cross paths. I haven’t forgotten when Dottie was so eager to “question” her, most likely about what happened at Heather’s shop… and whose fault it was.

One of the things I love about Aaron Neathery’s Endtown is how it’s full of surprises. We can all guess about what is liable to happen next, but then Aaron will shock us all and do something we don’t see coming. I’ve made my guess as to what may happen next, but the ball is in Mr. Neathery’s court.

All we can do now, is stay tuned…

This must be a new portion of the cemetery. Looks like they are conserving space now.Are these all from the wolf massacre and riots?

Anyway, here is an image from a few years ago. Plus two days following it.

Baslim the Beggar gives us a good place to begin the whole story arc that ends here (maybe). The end of the milk trial, with acquittals for all and Jacob in charge makes it all right for Endtowners to use milk and eggs…and eventually flesh as well.

Oge and others: I’ve been thinking this is the end of the arc for weeks now.

One of you, the other day, said something about Aaron having a tribute to fallen Endtown cast members.

With all these tear-jerker scenes – and no real plot development – it kind of feels like that is where we are right now.

While everyone’s been complaining for months about how dark and disturbing Endtown has gotten, there really haven’t been all that many grave moments here.

Unles a WHOLE LOT of other citizens just died, shouldn’t Heather be closer to the outer edge of graves?

I’m wondering, now, just who killed the wolf that was going to torch Heather’s shop, and who was it that attacked her in the alley. The alley attack could have been the cannibals trying to frame the wolves. And, it’s unlikely Heather was in the shop when the one wolf found the flammable liquid container. While he could have killed himself by accident, that more likely might have been another cannibal trying to frame Heather to further enflame the riots. The one wolf that did actually manage to follow Heather into the alley was probably killed by her (after Grout told her to learn to defend herself). Some of the loose ends that will remain loose.

Little graves. Are the corpses buried sit-down ? Are they cremated ? Are all the slaughtered wolves buried here too ?

Now, is Heather Hoss actually buried there, or is it more like Soylent Green?

Endtown comic strip depicts a strong belief in life after death. Aaron Marx sees dead people and talks with dead people that nobody else can see or hear.

Off the subject of these panels.

Back on July 19, 2018 I commented on the lack of fire hydrants and wondered about the water system, because the firefolk were putting the hoses down into manholes. This began a debate about whether there was pressurized mains below, or if it was just being pumped up by the truck.

In responding to another post, I went back to May, 2017 and found the answer.

    https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2017/05/08 (third and fourth panels)

Two of the firefolk are on top of the truck working a manual pump!

They are also seen here, though it is a little harder to see.

    https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2018/07/19 (third panel)

So I was wrong about the pressurized water for use in fighting fires. It still begs the question of how people in the upper levels of buildings get their water for drinking, bathing, etc.

Now I have to wonder what powers the firetruck and the police car(s)?

Are they wound up like those stupid guns used at the beginning of the strip?
