In reference to “Solar Bones”, at Amazon.com, it appears to be the ramblings of the writer, and ends on page 217 with the F-word.

Now my old English teacher would really flip out over that. Run on sentences really made her mad.

The leaning tower is not quite right; the bottom cup should be leaning too.

Did he include acknowledgements in his book?

In an English class, we were challenged to write as long a sentence, using correct grammar and spelling of course, as we could. As each student announced the number of words they had, each higher number was cheered. I was second to last. The highest so far had been 72 words, and the class was ready to announce the winner, until they got to me. I said “256 and still going.” I finished my “I am writing a long sentence” sentence and turned it in with 273 words. I got an A minus, since I didn’t have time to proofread or re-write it.

The point is that’s it’s tougher with grammar, and making sense, and trying to be interesting, to compose long sentences.

Oh so he used a lot of commas instead of periods.

Judging from the sample on Amazon, it is indeed stream-of-consciousness free-associative rambling that avoids lapsing even momentarily into a sentence. Not a 217-page sentence, then, but 217 pages without a sentence.

There is a stylistic precedent in James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, which contains some very, very long sentences, that do make sense – eventually.
