Stephen Miller, the architect of the Trump atrocity — this crime against humanity — has specifically and explicitly repudiated the Statue of Liberty and the famous poem by Emma Lazarus that he derides and denigrates. Trump has repudiated the Statue of Liberty and I wouldn’t be surprised if the French ask for it back.

Simple. Tell her that it means she needs to join the resistance and become a member of what will be America’s next “greatest generation”. Just like the last “greatest generation” who rose to the challenge of defeating authoritarian fascism which threatened safety and freedom around the world.

“..and the land of the sheep and the home of the afraid.”

Sheep: those who follow blindly and do not question authority.

Afraid: of anyone who isn’t like them. Muslims, Gays, Immigrants.

Tell her that she’s holding up the lamp for a reason, that it’s the only ray of light we can currently see, and we need to follow it, now, and fight anything that gets in the way with every fiber of our being.

Maybe you could say that you are coming legally to the United States. When one does something legally it is generally not an issue.

Regardless of what is occurring at the border, you generally ought to follow the rules of the nation to which you wish to assimilate into.

See, once again people intentionally (usually) choose to not add on the word “illegal” to pain conservatives or Republicans’ views on immigration. That makes it more difficult to label us racists without being able to support the argument.

Joan, Are the Russians not paying you enough to come up with original statements? I don’t want to cut and paste my answers on every strip to answer the dishonest crap you cut and paste on every strip.

No matter how often the message is massaged, JoanSimpson is still lying.

“Donald Trump is enforcing an immigration law that President Bush signed into law in 1997, the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008.”.

Wow, what a mishmash. Bush was not president in 1997, Clinton was. There was no law in 1997, it was the Flores v Reno settlement (as JS notes further down in the comment).

Snopes: “However, neither the 1997 Flores settlement nor a 2008 human trafficking law cited in that release in any way stipulated that the government separate children from their parents:”

I wonder how people who eagerly consume the kind of stuff JS spews manage to keep from wondering why this separation of children hasn’t been going full force since 1997.

P.S. The Snopes page is https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/was-law-separate-families-passed-1997/

Once upon a time, America welcomed immigration and allowed high quotas from many countries. After a time the quotas shrank and there were long waiting lists to immigrate here. Many people got tired of waiting for their turn and instead bribed people that cross the border to smuggle them in. When the number of Illegal Immigrants became high enough to notice, People that waited their turn and legally immigrated (and their families) got upset and wanted them stopped and sent back. The government being ruled by laws, tried to enforce those laws and send them back. The supporters of the illegal immigrants subverted the laws and demonized anyone that tried to enforce them. As the smugglers change tactics, the law enforcers often have to make unpopular choices trying to dissuade people from breaking laws to get here. We still welcome people that follow our laws and come here legally, but don’t tolerate those who chose to break our laws trying to come here.

I am glad to see the almost unanimous response from the various Christian churches. Even the Methodist Church told Sessions he better talk the his bishop before setting foot in church again.

I am sick and tired of the Evangelical Christians speaking for Christianity. It’s about time Americans take back America and Christians take back Christ.

Using the Bible to promote any agenda is blasphemy; it is invoking God’s name for political gain. Does this sound like “taking the name of the Lord, thy God in vain?” It does to me.

On the other hand we have a couple pastors here in North Carolina who said that God made Trump the president of the United States to clean up our sinful ways. That’s as good a definition of the Divine Right of Kings as I’ve heard in this century.
