If she is taking Puddles to the vet, then we may be in for an exciting story. Of course, the way Puddles is unrestrained in the car, we could be in for an exciting story if Puddles just lives up to his name.

So many side stories going on, and we start the week with this?

That says it all. Luann’s so boring she even puts the dog to sleep

This seems like a Sunday stand alone comic. However I think something’s up. Luann seems on the lookout for temptation of some kind. That is a respectable endeavor at her age. However I hope Luann finds somebody besides Jack at the dog park.

Luann it seems that your bored to sleep.

I think we just stepped into the poor man’s version of “Garfield Minus Garfield.”

At last we’re back with our main character, and for once she’s taken a bit of care over her appearance – a spot of lipstick if nothing else. Is she planning on meeting a boy (or even some boys)? Jack walks his dog in the park. Is that why Puddles is coming along?

Puddles is just saving up his energy for the real excitement later!

I think Tara on the horizon. She’s a breath of fresh air in the strip.

Uh-oh – I sense Tara is on the horizon.

Hopefully, there is not a big car wreck. In that case, puddles better wake up – it will be his last chance to see a big wreck like that…

Anytime a new arc starts with the title character talking about how boring things are you can be sure something not boring and quite surprising will come up. I will withhold any prediction until it gets more revealed, and that might take some time, but remember we still have the house renovation with Brad, Toni, TJ and Shannon, the August wedding with Irma and Al, Gunther and Les misadventures, and I know I have forgotten a few, and so many other possibilities, One thing we can be sure of, it will not be boring.

Did the meaning of “Get busy” change?

I must be watching too much “Family Feud”, I thought “Gettin’ Busy” meant something else…

Puddles is back! Can Bernie be far behind?

Puddle needs to be in the back seat properly restrained. The front seat area is no place for a dog, especially if they decided to get in the driver’s lap. In a sudden stop, the dash is particularly deadly. Back seat, properly restrained.

Well, we have Puddles in tow for this arc. So the obvious expectations are Jack & the dog park or the vet. But dogs always know when they’re on the way to the vet and they never sleep on the way.

So IF it’s the dog park and IF it’s a new summer adventure who will be there beside Jack? Or Jack with someone unexpected?

GnK have been in a character expanding mood of late. Bows and arrows. Bowling. Life painting. Tire changing. Theater mentoring. What now?

We haven’t seen Tara and Nil for awhile… nah!

Hmmm, Luann seems to be saying that they BOTH will be 1. Getting busy, and 2. Getting out of a rut. So, that MIGHT mean they are going to a different dog park, but perhaps more likely that they are going for a walk in a new location, one that they can not get to by walking or by Luann walking and carrying Puddles. I guess it could mean that Puddles will be meeting a new vet. What other things do they go out and do together? Maybe the firehouse will be showing off new hydrant styles? (Oh!)

When you’re Luann’s age, it’s “Getcha motor runnin’!….” (♪) as soon as the day breaks forth…

When you’re Puddles’ age, it’s “If you want the best!?….You have to wait for the rest!”.

I really, really hope the writers haven’t been reading all of those posts asking whether Puddles is too old to still be alive in the strip (my usual answer is that in Luann time he’s about 6 or 7)…

By the way. “WHO” is this “Everyone Else” that does “Fun Interesting Things” during the Summer, that Luann is referring to?

1) Tiffany? Not since Ann Eiffel showed up.

2) Bernice? She has No concept of “Fun.”

3) Gunther? See Number 2.

4) Dez? Maybe. But She forgot to invite Luann along on the trip.

5) Quill? DON’T-EVER-MENTION-THAT-NAME-TO-LUANN-AGAIN!

6) Les? Well yeah, if your idea of “fun” is petty larceny, pushing people around, and walking around in foul smelling clothes that haven’t been washed in a month.

7) Nil? Again, see Number 2.

8) Jack? Now You’re talkin’! And what’s a broken foot where there’s “fun” to be had. (Clothing Optional)

9) Elwood Druit? Well the “Fun” usually starts when He LEAVES.

10) Tara? Perhaps. But Maybe You should take your dog home first, Lu. “Fun” with Tara may be just a tad DANGEROUS.

My dog never sleeps when she’s in the car. She is way too excited about her new adventure, even though she has no idea where we are going.

Luann!! Get yer eyes on the road! Yer liable to end up with a 4000 lb. hood ornament if ya rear end some one.

Nice, simple drawing with nice, simple colors….not over-crowded with too many characters. McEldowney also has excellent drawing skills and a very effective use of black ink. And, then there’s Mother Goose and Grimm: bold lines and equally bold colors. To me, all three artists are eye catching.

what makes me think it might be something other than the park is that Luann talks about getting busy. Busy sounds like work, not just strolling around the park. But why take Puddles? Maybe Luann has enrolled Puddles in a class or some dog activity.

Let your dog sleep, Luann. Instead, give us some clue that you’re up to something actually interesting….
