Just as we cannot know pleasure without knowing pain, so too, we cannot appreciate a democratic republic unless we’ve had an autocratic kleptocracy?

The gerrymander is one animal that needs to be made extinct.

Republicans have gotten used to being thieves and liars and putting themselves first above America. They want to destroy the government and give all the money to rich people.

If the GOP could win on their ideas, they wouldn’t have needed to gerrymander districts in the first place. It is surprising none of those eggs landed on their faces.

I’m hoping that come November, the Republicans in Congress will have plenty of rocks and garbage pelting their dear little faces……….

They’ll have to rely on the same thing the establishment Democrats rely on to get elected: Negative campaigning, lies, half truths, subject changing, fear mongering, and voter manipulation.

I was born into a ‘political’ household – I read (and enjoyed) “The Prince” while I was still in the sixth grade ( no, it wasn’t assigned school reading – I was working from a list produced by my uncle) It was an article of faith that BOTH parties practice “Gerrymandering” when in power, but neither side would be so “stupid” as for it to ,once again, become so "Blatantly Obvious’ as the political move had been that gave the procedure its somewhat ominous name! The original "gerrymander was so obvious AND SO STUPID that only idiots, imbeciles and morons could do it and expect to get away with it

So I lived the following decades of my life in blissful ignorance of the rising tide of desperation and TOTALLY IDIOTIC STUPIDITY which was surrounding me on all sides.

And now it’s come to this! It’s SO blatant, SO obvious, SO transparent in its goals, that the Democratic Party has no recourse than to take it to the courts and have the whole disgusting mess adjudicated by the courts! Republicans have, in effect, killed the goose that lays the golden egg. And to their eternal shame, they’ve done it in such a nakedly partisan way that even a Conservative court will have no recourse but to fix it in a more equitable fashion.

Now we go out there and step on the hens and chicks and then burn down the hen house. (Republicans never touch the rooster. It’s always women and children first.)

Guess we’ll have to find some new way to cheat at elections, otherwise the voters will get what they actually want, and we can’t have that!
