That’s just grate.

First time I ever had a waiter grate fresh parmesan over my pasta, I was a little boy. I had no idea you were supposed to say anything. I was just engrossed watching the operation, and figured he was a grown up and knew what he was doing. Fortunately, mom recognized the situation and told me I had to tell him when to stop, so I did. Otherwise I would have been perfectly content to sit there while he grated an entire cheese. It’s a funny memory now.

Technically, you just did say “when”.

I hope the waiter will stop when it takes the skin off his fingers.

Aww, how cute! Just like any other one-percenter! Enough is never enough.

In reality, you should be given a chance to taste the dish first, to see how much of a nutty, salty, parmesan flavor you would like to add to it. Once in awhile, the correct answer is no, thank you.

Thats what happens when you eat at a cheesy place.

Go till you have carpal tunnel and then stop.

It’s a myth that mice like cheese. Peanut butter is the suggested bait for mouse and rat traps.

To avoid having to “say when”, diners should be able to grind their own cheese, like they used to. You know, “Make America Grate Again”
