Our local Elks Club had a muskrat feed every year. I could never get that Saturday night off. A co-worker did and reported she wimped out at the last minute and got the prime rib.
Okay, it may have been mostly that passage in Catch-22 that feeds my love for the “any questions?” ethos. But it isn’t the only thing. There’s that scene in the Catch-22 of concert documentaries, Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense, where David Byrne interrupts the concert with “Does anybody have any questions?” Just brilliant. Meta. The request for questions itself is the non sequitur.
Excuse me, there’s some music I have to go listen to right now.

Only the young ones are good eatin’. Older ones are greasy and strong-tasting. Think about it – this is an animal that eats plants, so it should be good to eat. My father-in-law used to say, if you knew what chickens eat, you wouldn’t eat them.

Similar to squirrel, when parboiled, only the meat is extremely greasy.

Never tried it- or bear, ’possum, or skunk.

I always figured that the point of Groundhog day was to eat sausage.

Frazz must spend a lot of time spying on that class as he always seems to know what happens there.

Wouldn’t that be Pork Sausage? “Ground Hog”?

My father hunted just about every wild animal in our county, but generally speaking groundhog was at the bottom of the list. Very gamey and greasy.

Groundhog (or woodchuck, same critter) is good in stew.

Last week I tried guinea pig meat. Couldn’t even swallow it. Maybe it was the preparation style.
