Stay just the way you are…dearest Red & Rover. I’d love to dash under that sprinkler with you. Have FUN!

When I put a sprinkler to my backyard I sometimes turn it on too high and get sprinkled. I secretly laugh and feel abit young again, even though I’m 70. I think I’ll do more of that from now on!

    Being a grown-up is so over-rated!

There are times that I hate being grown up. Went to a funeral home viewing for a friend’s brother yesterday. Felt very bad for her mother, having to bury a son.

Being a grown up doesn’t mean you should lose childlike wonder, or take joy in doing something fun – especially with your puppers or kids! (That ain’t being grown up, that is being lazy!)

You know, it’s funny, but the other day, at 68, I was going through old photos, many of me at a very young age, and I found at least three of me playing different roles, using toys appropriate to the roles, and each matched something I made a sort of career of as an adult. And they were all fun, often dangerous but fun, and really adult play. Someday, I’ll have to decide what I want to do when I grow up.

Hausof7Mau I can’t remember who first said it, but here goes. “Getting older is mandatory, growing up is optional.”

Sad to say, Red but your dad is a 70 yr old in a 30 yr old body.

I think it’s an era thing. Today’s adults are more willing to do “childish” things than the adults of 50 years ago.

Gee Dad, run through the sprinkler! Throw water balloons with the kid! Go sledding with him in winter. Just because you’re not a kid anymore doesn’t mean you can’t have fun anymore!
